CHAPTER TWENTY THREE—
B E N N Y's pov
MY GAZE HELD on the screen in front of me, the bright display leaving just enough beam to lighten up the darkened room.
The soft tune of the tv was the only sound in the room, up until the sound of a tap on the window erupted from nowhere.
The sound most definitely caught me off guard and I looked over quickly to see nothing. I shook it off with a sigh and turned back to the tv when the noise repeated.
Now, I stood from the bed and walked over. I unlocked the latch of the window and slid it up, being taken by surprise when seeing Kenny and Devora who stood down below in the yard.
"What the hell- what are you guys doing!" I exclaimed, looking at them with disbelief.
"Listen, jerk!" Devora quickly started. "You have been acting up. You're coming with us"
I scoffed, "What- where?"
"Listen, man" Kenny now broke in. "Little tootsie is gone. Gonezo"
"What do you mean gone?" My brows furrowed in confusion.
"I mean like she ain't at her house!" He replied, throwing his hands up. "You know what time it is? Dev is worried about her and so am I"
I paused for a moment before slowly nodding. "Uh, ok?"
"Yeah, so. You're coming with us to find her, duh" Kenny simply explained as if it were so causal.
I stifled a laugh now and shook my head. "Uh, no. You guys can do that. But I'm not"
"Yes you are! She's off somewhere she most definitely shouldn't be" Devora intervened with a scoff.
I stared at her blankly, "Is she with Miles?"
She paused and scratched her head. "Uh, maybe-
"Then I don't care"
With a sigh I pushed myself off from the window frame and went to close it again when a small pebble was thrown at me.
I scoffed and looked back down. "Hey! What was that—
I was cut off by another pebble. "You better get your dumb ass down here before I go up and wring your damn head!" Devora called out sternly.
My mouth opened to protest even more when she threw another pebble. I shook my head with a scoff, "My god- ok, fine fine!"
I huffed under my breathe and whirled around, walking back into the room.

"This is so, stupid!"
"Awe, I'm sorry. Are you tired?" Devora mockingly questioned. "Well guess what. I don't care!"
Now my mouth fell with a scoff, "Excuse me. But you're the one who forced me to come! I don't get why I even need to be here!"
