CHAPTER NINE—
T H A L I A's pov

IT WAS NOW back to Monday. The weekend was over and as usual, I was certainly not ready to go back to school.

I had just finished with another torturous class of cat stories and writing in English. Students poured into the hall for the bell had just rang.

I made my way down the hall and slowed down my pace once nearing my locker. Of course I was nervous. But like usual, it was filled with many yellow sticky notes.

"Awe. Don't you just love our little daily reminders?" A voice mockingly called.

With a tired sigh I turned around to see Emily. "What do you want?"

"Oh just checking up on you" she simply replied with a sarcastic smile.

With another sigh I turned back around and to the locker. "Will you ever stop? Why are you still mad"

"Oh please. I'm just making sure you aren't walking around thinking you own the place alright? Nobody likes you. Get that into your head" She shot, her arms crossing as she leaned against the locker aside mine.

"Not Benny, your little baseball friends, Devora. No one. I'm sorry to say it but.. you should open your eyes" she added with a snicker.

Her head titled and with a smirk she added. "Not even your poor dad. That's why he constantly left you. And now.. well oh how sad"

Immediately my head shot over, my eyes narrowing at her statement. "Shut your mouth Emily"

She simply looked down towards her nails. "Yeah, well do you want me too lie to you?"

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You know my dad is dead right" I spat, immediately growing angered.

"Duh. At least the poor guy can finally get away from you" she replied with a stifled laugh.

My eyebrows knit together in anger. "God are you that mad you couldn't keep him?"

Immediately her gaze shot up, eyes darkening at my statement. "Watch it Lia"

"Are you? It's been months now and you still aren't over it" I questioned and took a step forward.

She let out a sarcastic laugh. "Please. Now you're not only a ditz but delusional?"

"I would want to leave you too" she mockingly leaned forward and added.

My mouth fell with a scoff as I sent her a shove into the lockers across the hall. "My god- what is wrong with you?"

She grumbled at the impact and sent me a glare. "Me? I'm not the one acting like an animal right now"

"A what?" A voice called with a scoff.

I turned back to see a furious looking Devora who stomped over. "A what now. I didn't hear that Emily?"

Emily simply rolled her eyes. "Again. Why don't you get your nose out of everything, huh Ames?"
