Despite the battle room's complete darkness, spectators outside were still able to see the girls through the IR cameras.
Gahyeon did a quick scan to see if Hyeri was carrying any electronics on her person, but nothing came up except for the lights, sprinklers, and camera system. Wait...the camera system! That was Gahyeon's key to success!
Without the assistance of her laptop, Gahyeon could only use her brain to complete the hacking breach. Luckily, since she was a worker at FeverDream, she should have access to the cameras, assuming they're connected to FeverDream's WiFi network. To Gahyeon's luck, they were in fact connected, making it a lot easier for her to access the video feed. Despite having an apparent advantage, Gahyeon's entire body remained tense. Hyeri was no idiot, so she had foreseen this possibility. The second after Gahyeon turned the lights off, Hyeri pulled a nighttime scope out of her belt and quickly attached it to the airsoft rifle, looking through it to spot her. As Gahyeon observed Hyeri through the camera, she quickly realized what Hyeri was doing. Clenching her pistol tight, determined to be one step ahead, Gahyeon turned on a spotlight, shining it brightly on Hyeri. While Hyeri was momentarily blinded by the sudden change in light, Gahyeon fired at Hyeri's lower leg. While the 2 bullets didn't connect, they passed by the right side of Hyeri's lower right leg close enough to create the desired effect. Despite gritting her teeth and trying her hardest, Hyeri still let out a scream of pain. The state of Hyeri's lower right leg was absolutely terrible. Enough to make Gahyeon want to apologize for hurting Hyeri.
The only good thing that came from Gahyeon's bullet being fired was that it narrowed down the possible locations where she stood within the room. Both the direction the bullet grazed by and the targeted leg hinted more towards the fact that Gahyeon had now tiptoed over to Hyeri's right. Using the nighttime scope in the overly bright spotlight proved to be difficult, so Hyeri quickly hobbled over to her left, locked in Gahyeon's upper right leg, and fired. Despite Hyeri using a specialized airsoft rifle for this fight, the small plastic pellets still packed quite the punch. Unlike Gahyeon, Hyeri's pellet perfectly hit Gahyeon as intended, breaking through the fabric of her pants, getting stuck in the outer 2 layers of her skin. Gahyeon couldn't hold in her scream of pain either. In her heart, Hyeri also felt a pang of guilt. However, she told herself that she had to continue with the trial, and while Gahyeon was clutching her right leg, fired at her left thigh. Since the second bullet was fired quickly after the first, the gas canister wasn't able to build up as much pressure, only leaving a heavy bruise. Nonetheless, it was enough pain for Gahyeon to fall to her knees. Gahyeon clenched both her fists tight to bear the pain, involuntarily firing 2 quick 1st-degree bullets in a random direction. For her final move, Hyeri quickly locked in on the arm holding the pistol, and fired. As expected, Gahyeon's pistol clattered against the ground, the baby fox screaming in pain. While she could still move her limbs, all 3 that had been shot were in constant pain. Seeing the younger girl in this degree of agony, Hyeri sighed. Gahyeon reminded her of herself when she was just beginning the training journey. Hyeri set down her weapon, hobbled over under the spotlight, and tapped out, rotating her body to face where she thought the corners of the room were to give the cameras a better view. Her own pain from the 3rd-degree bullet was becoming unbearable itself. After tapping out, the lights turned on by themselves. The timer showed that they had only spent 30 seconds in the room. Considering both were armed with firearms, a bullet - fired from Hyeri's proper rifle at least - can end an opponent in under 5 seconds, so the timing was to be expected.
"Hey, Gahyeon. I tapped out already. Let's get you all healed up, ok?" Hyeri said in her most soothing voice, trying her best to ignore her own radiating burn. Redirecting her voice to a different audience, Hyeri looked into the closest pair of cameras. "Open the portal, please. I think we both need some assistance getting back, I just need 1 person who can grab my rifle and have me lean on them for a bit. Gahyeon needs to be carried with both hands since almost all her limbs and vulnerable, so maybe 2 people would be best. She's not used to as much pain, so take care of her first. I'll wait."
