Upon landing in LA, Sanghyuk (Hyuk) is immediately on the move. He knew Minhyuk would probably send his minions after him. Time was limited.
Yet, as Hyuk tried to prop himself up, he immediately fell face first into the hard concrete with a muffled groan. He couldn't support his body weight on his left arm at all. Both bones in his forearm were broken cleanly. Luckily, the bones had not poked out of the skin yet, but the pain was still next to unbearable. Using his right arm, he slowly forced himself to stand up and started walking around, searching for any large convention buildings. He cursed himself for not paying more attention in other-realm English classes. It would have really paid off right now. Instead, Hyuk now was bloodied and battered in unfamiliar territory. Scanning the people around him, he technically could mind control any of them and have them bring him to the closest hospital, but he wasn't familiar with the territory, so that wouldn't be of use.
As Hyuk walked through the smaller streets of downtown la, people stared at him in confusion, disgust, and rarely, concern. Seeing so many people on their phones, Hyuk had an idea. Scanning the area, he locked onto a businessman sitting on a bench eating a donut. Taking control of the man, Hyuk walked over to the bench and sat next to the man. The man gave him his phone and Hyuk dialed a number that he hoped hadn't changed. As expected, she didn't pick up and the call went to voicemail.
"You have reached the voicemail of I, Lawyer Tiffany Young. For urgent events, please leave a voicemail and your contact information right after the beep. Thank you."
*beep*
"Hi noona. It's me, Hyuk. I've come to this realm and desperately need to talk with you as soon as possible. Don't call this number back after you hear this message. Just have a scout come find me. I'm somewhere with this giant donut atop a small hut. Donut king or something. Please, once again, find me asap. I have info on the attacks."
. . . . . .
Unlike the usual bustling mornings, the ambiance of this morning was...eerily quiet. Understandably, it was difficult for the girls to suddenly adjust to stay at home life. Grateful to see the girls awake, Hani immediately woke Sojin and Moonbin up, eager to get some more sleep herself.
Casually sipping some coffee from behind the kitchen counter, Handong glances between Bora and Siyeon then Minji and Yoohyeon. Both pairs, surprisingly, were interacting normally, with no traces of behavior out of the ordinary. If you asked any human, they would tell you that those 4 are acting the same way they were yesterday. Handong, however, is no ordinary human. She's supernatural with a hankering for juicy gossip. Quite frankly, there was no doubt in Handong's mind that whatever happened between those 2 pairs would do a better job of waking her up than her coffee.
Handong's POV
"Eonnie? Something on your mind? You've been staring blankly at the other eonnies for a while now."
I turn my head to look at Gahyeon. Even this early in the morning, she's still so cute. Her hair is still slightly messy from when I tousled it during last night's cuddle session. She really is adorable. I wish I could pinch her chubby cheeks and give her a quick peck on the cheek, but alas, Siyeon is here and I'm sure that wouldn't be welcomed.
"Dong eonnie? You there?"
"Yep. Sorry. Not fully awake. Did you sleep well? Your hair is still a little messy."
