It's always after something perfect, that something goes wrong. From the top of the mountain, they could see the city. They could see the stars, and they could see the world. But they could also see Niki and Minx. As Minx hugged Niki, standing dangerously close to the edge of the cliff. George only noticed this when he opened his eyes again. George had looked around, and seen them. But, at first didn't think much of it. It was 9:30. So Minx still had 2 and a half hours until it was technically her death day.

So he closed his eyes again and sat down with Dream. He leaned his head on Dream's shoulder and hummed a melody he had stuck in his head. He didn't know where it was from, or if it was from anything at all. But he liked it a lot. George inched closer to Dream, lacing his fingers through Dream's.

"I figured it out." Dream looked over at George, "I.. think I figured it out."

"What do you mean?" George opened his eyes, looking at Dream.

"Death. Death is like a 'Tomorrow.' You can't see it, or hear it. You can't touch it, or taste it. And most of the time you can't feel it until it happens. You have no way of knowing that its coming, but somehow, its arrival is garunteed." Dream looked up at the stars. Then continued, "When you get your 'death day,' its basically just giving you a date to dread. A date to try and ignore, or forget. When a today changes into a tomorrow, you don't dread it. For some reason you look forward to it. You embrace it, even though it could be no different from the rest of the days you've been through."

Dream thought for a moment, George didn't say anything.

"The difference between Death, and a Tomorrow," George started, looking down at the city. "Is that, you can change what happens tomorrow... You can't change death."

Dream looked at George, a small smirky-smile on his face, "Yet somehow, we did."

George laughed. Wiping a small tear that had appeared a the corner of his eye. "You are such a simp" Dream laughed as well.

That was when George realised what Minx was doing. He realised why she wanted to come up here. He understood everything. His eyes widened. He stood up and started running down the hill. Dream started to get up and follow him, startled.

"Whats wrong?" Dream caught up with George

"Minx is going to jump." George stopped for a second. Looking Dream dead in the eyes. Then he kept running.

"But she can't die, its not technocally her day for another 2 hours and 15 minutes." He countered

"She won't die instantly. Theres about two hours left, one and a half for us to drive to the hospital, 30 minutes for them to pronounce her dead. Just because its not tomorrow right now, doesn't mean it won't be in a couple hours." Dreams eyes went wide, and he followed George to Minx and Niki.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Minx hugged Niki, tears in her eyes.
"Why did they have to just, disappear? Why were they plucked off of Earth so abruptly? I couldn't even say goodbye." Minx buried her head into Niki's shounder.
"I don't know. The world works in cruel, mysterous ways." Niki patted her on the back. Trying desperatly to help her.
"I guess your right." Minx pulled away from their hug. Taking a few steps towards the cliff. "Y'know, Sap and I met up here."
9:40
She looked at NIki. "Really? Thats sweet."
"Yeah. and once Karl and Quackity met him, we would all come up here every year. Two or three times and just spend all night looking at the stars. And then we would sleep in our cars just to watch the sunrise the next day." She smiled and turned towards Niki.
Niki nodded at her. Smiling. "Sounds really nice."
Minx laughed in agreement. "Y'know, when Sap found out his day was the same as theirs, he was so glad. Because he thought they would all be together. He was always talking about how 'Fate brought them together, and Fate couldn't pull them apart.' But in reality, they died together. And, well, he went alone. Lonely. And sad. Knowing that the last thing he said to them was that her never wanted to hear their voices again." Minx turned back around. "And yet, Karl still left him a voicemail. Where he apologized. Where he said his last words, not to his family. Not to Quackity. To Sapnap.
9:45
"Life is strange like that. When you love someone, you don't just love them when they love you. You love them, disregarding the fact they might not love you 100% all the time." Minx smiled. "How you can have a friend who you would die for, even though, depending on the day they were given to die, couldn't die for you."
She looked at the city. Tears clouding her eyes. Niki walked up to her. Hugging her. Neither of them spoke. Just listened to the wind. The distant sounds of honking cars, and the sound of their own breathing.
9:52
"How did I find you Niki?" Minx looked at her. "Your soul doesn't belong here."
Niki blushed, embarrassed.
"Get away from the edge!" George shouted. Minx's head turned. Looking directly into George's eyes. "Please."
"Yeah, Minx, please. We can just stargaze, make your last hours special!" Dream Stepped towards them. Smiling a little.
9:55
"Did you think I was going to jump?" Minx looked at them. George stepped forward, stunned.
"Well- Yeah, I-" He started
"How'd you know?" Minx smiled. Barely able to be seen by George and Dream.
She stepped forward. She let go of Niki, pulling into a hug one last time. Then, Minx saluted them, turned around, and jumped. Niki fell to the ground. Tears started to pour out of her eyes. Dream walked up to her, hugging her. But Niki pushed him away.
"No!" Niki stood up, walking close to the edge of the cliff. Dream didn't realise what she was doing, so he didn't stop her. Niki whispered the lyrics to a song Minx showed her. The first song Minx showed her, and the last song Niki wanted her to hear. "If we go down, then we go down together." Niki smiled, and jumped after her.
9:57
"They'll say you could do anything, they'll say that I was clever."
Minx hit the ground. Looking to the sky.
9:58
Niki hit the ground. Right beside Minx.
9:59
"If we go down, Then we go down together."
