TW: Guns, Robbery, Death
Dream sat on his bed, taking in the situation. He stared at the letter in his hands. Wondering what it could be, who it was from, and why it was in his hands. Carefully, he opened it, pulling out a letter.
Dear, Dream Nekatsaw
Recently, we have stumbled on something that might interest you to know! We were going through Death Days, and we found one for you. We had never seen it before, so we wanted to alert you right away. Because, well, it is in 2 days.
Dream didn't speak. He sat there, angry, then tore the letter up into a hundred pieces. Why him. Why was it him. He finally found someone perfect, beyond perfect, and was going to have to leave him. Just like everyone had done to him.
So, he didn't tell anyone. He fought Techno, as usual, and didn't text George. It would just break his heart to have to tell adorable, innocent, George. He just tried to forget.
Then a day passed, and on his last day, he was with George. The only person who mattered.
He fell asleep at 12:01
3:13
There was a crash in the kitchen. George opened his eyes, and crawled out of bed. Upon realizing he was at Dream's house and not his own, he may or may not have crashed into a wall. Multiple times. But, regardless, he got out the door and walked to the kitchen. Slowly. The whole house was dark. He heard a sound. He didn't move. He looked around, but couldn't see anything. He sighed, looked down, and breathed in and out slowly.
It was just his imagination.
But as he looked up, something was pressed against his forehead. He couldn't see much, but he knew two things for sure. Someone was in the house, and the person who was in the house was holding something that vividly resembled a gun.
The cold metal pressed into his head.
"I'll kill you. You know that." A voice he didn't recognize said.
"I know. That's why I won't scream. I'll just call-" George felt someone's arm grab his, and his arm started hurting really bad.
"You're not calling anybody, pretty boy." A different man said.
"Ok, ok. What do you want from me?" He couldn't see it, but he could feel the person with the gun to his head smirk. George closed his eyes. Ready to feel death.
"Hmm. Good question, Pretty boy. Well, you don't have much in this house. So... I'll have to take something else." George opened his eyes
"What do you want?" He repeated. "And my name isn't 'Pretty Boy' It's George."
"Well, Pretty Boy, let me think." A second of silence passed. Then, a hand grabbed his face, harshly, and the gun pointed to his head dropped. Then, someone whispered in his ear. "Death won't hurt too bad, trust me" The person kissed George on the cheek, and fired the gun. But, not at him. At the ceiling.
George fell backwards. Why was he scared? He couldn't die. He was safe. But still... Something felt off. Something felt wrong. George glanced into Dream's room. Then back at the person who had the gun. The person crouched down and looked at him.
"Aww, are you scared?" He laughed. George tried to stand up, but a hand on his shoulder didn't let him. He glanced into Dream's room, making sure he was ok, and didn't wake up. "Whatcha looking at? What's so important there?"
"N-Nothing." George stammered, trying, unsuccessfully, to stand up again.
"We'll see about that." The person walked around George and into Dream's room. Why was he such a heavy sleeper!? George got out of the grasp of the person holding him down and scrambled into the room.
"Don't hurt him, please. Please," George stepped in front of the man with the gun. He was obviously smirking, George knew it.
"No, I don't think I will." The person pushed George to the ground, someone else grabbed his arms. The man stepped towards Dream, putting the gun against his head. Tears flooded out of George's eyes
"Y'know, it's kind of rude to try and shoot someone in their sleep." Dream's voice?
There was a blur, and in a second, Dream was out of the bed, and pushing the gun to the floor. The other person growled. Then, he flipped his hand in a circle, and brought the gun up to Dream again.
"So rude." Dream smirked. The man then pointed the gun at George. Dream stopped short.
"What valuables do you have in this house?" The man said, calmly. Dream hesitantly answered.
"Only some of my sister's old jewelry but-" Dream couldn't finish.
"Go get it. Or I'll shoot him." Dream breathed heavily. What was he doing? George wanted to tell him no, or remind him that he couldn't die. But he couldn't. Dream walked past the man, but at the door, he doubled back. Knocking him over and stepping on his gun.
"No," Dream picked up the gun and pointed it at the man near George. "Let him go, or I'll shoot." The man did, and then ran off. So did the other two men that were in the house. Leaving George, Dream, and the man who had had the gun in the house.
Dream dropped the gun and ran over to George, hugging him and pulling him close. Forgetting one vital detail about the room-
"Why didn't you wake me up?" Dream kissed George's forehead.
"You need sleep, Idiot." George didn't laugh though.
He didn't have time to. A loud sound echoed through the room, and his heart seemed to stop beating for a moment. They were moving in water. It was slow, and they couldn't breathe. A gunshot. Tears dripped down George's face like a waterfall.
"George... What time is it?" Dream slowly looked at George. George looked up at him.
"It's about 3:25... why?" George's eyes didn't dare look away from Dream.
"George... I don't want to die." George didn't understand
"You won't. It'll be us, just us, forever. You don't have to worry." Dream looked at the ceiling, tears on the verge of creeping down his cheeks
"George, I never planned to live forever... But, If I could be with you, I would die and find you in a million different lifetimes." Dream took a breath, "It's always the first time you die that feels the worst. I'm sorry"
"Sorry for what. Dream what do you mean? You're scaring me!" George looked at him intently. Scared for the love of his live's life.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. It shouldn't have ended like this." Dream's legs gave out, he fell to the floor, but luckily, George was there, and caught his head.
"Dream, please talk to me. What do you mean. What are you talking about!"
"Promise you won't miss me?" Dream closed his eyes
"Wha-"
"Please! Promise me you won't miss me."
"I- Ok. I promise. But you can't die, you're not supposed to die! You're supposed to be the one who stays! You're supposed to be the one who doesn't leave me!" Tears flooded the ground, George's face was wet, and the floor was darkened with water-y tears.
"I'm sorry. Look for me... ok? Look for... A white mask. With a smiley face. I'll see you again. I promise. I promise" Dream looked George in the eye. Smiling. Dream pulled George closer to him. George crawled to his side and hugged him. Dream kissed his forehead again. "I love you so much. So much more than you could ever know. We'll meet again. It just wasn't the right time. We'll find the right time." Dream let one last breath out and closed his eyes. His world was ending, as George's crumbled to the ground.
The ring on his finger felt a million pounds heavier.
