~Bella's POV~

Sunlight streamed through the trees, effectivily waking me up to smoldering embers. I sighed sitting up as yesterday's events ran back through my mind. I still feel bad for what I did but apparently she had it coming. I stood up stretching as my bones popped in a few places. I noticed my fingertips were a little black but I didn't waste any thought of it. Sarah yawned and I smiled towards her.
"Sleep well?" I asked her and she just smiled my way.
"Yeah. We should get going though." I nodded and we walked around the group waking up the wolves. A few growled but I growled right back.
"We gotta get going." I kept telling them. They eventually got up and stretched out their backs. I pet the alpha's fur back and he moved into my touch. He then kneeled down and let me climb up. Sarah climbed up onto the beta's back and snuggled into it's fur. I chuckled at her and looked forward as we moved.
The woods cleared some and I could see Volterra if I squinted enough. The alpha slowed down to a jog before stopping. I slid off his back and brushed back his fur again. I smiled at him and thanked him for his help. He did a low whine and nuzzled my side as I moved. I laughed as I helped Sarah down off the wolf. We gathered our bags from the backs of the two pack members and trudged through the thinning woods.
"Thank you. Should I need you again will I find you?" The alpha bowed his head in response and I reciprocated his action. Sarah saw what was happening and quickly bowed towards the wolves. I smiled towards her and stood back up. We kept walking towards the city, keeping our hoods up. The clock tower came into view and I looked up at it feeling relieved. We walked through the front doors and I saw the same receptionist there. She smiled at me and told me to wait.
"A human?" I nodded and whispered to her.
"She knows. They're either going to change her or kill her." She came back around the corner with Jane and Alec. I smiled at Jane and she gave me one back.
"You're back." She noted and I nodded as I hugged her. She hugged me back and Alec gave me a quick hug.
"Who's this?" She asked pointing to Sarah.
"This is Sarah. She is one of the witches I lived with." Alec stared at her and I smiled. They were mates and I couldn't be happier.
"Let's go talk with the masters." I suggested and we all nodded. I steered Sarah in front of me so that she could walk with Alec.
"What happened?" Jane asked me and I looked away.
"I'd rather let everyone hear it so that I only have to explain once." Jane nodded and fell silent again. The elevator ride couldn't have been more awkward but I wasn't explaining myself twice. The doors eventually opened and we were on our way to the throne room. The masters were all sitting in their respectful chairs and smiled when I walked through.
"Well, this is a surprise. Did the blood not help?" He came down from his throne taking our hands. I let him look into my memories and his smile dropped a little.
"Hmm, I see. Well you are always welcomed here. I'll have lead you to a room so that you two may rest." He waved Jane over and she grabbed my bag.
"Thank you. I must speak with you before I find my room though. It's important." He nodded knowing fully what I needed. He led me up into his study and sat behind his desk. He rummaged the drawers finding a piece of paper.
"They haven't updated in a while but given you saw them here I will send out some of the guard. I don't like unannounced visitors in my city." I looked to him in fear.
"No need to be fearful. I see why you're here and I hope you will find peace here." I breathed out in relief and thanked him. I left the study and went to find either Jane or Alec. I bumped into a burly vampire that made me think of Emmett.
"Do you know where my room is?" He nodded and motioned for me to follow him. He showed me to a room towards the top part of the castle.
"My name's Felix if you need anything." He flashed a smile and I gave him one back.
"Thank you. Maybe I'll take you up on that." He quirked an eyebrow but I just laughed. I waved him goodbye and shut the door. I leaned against it closing my eyes.
"There you are! Isn't this amazing?!" Sarah shouted from the second story balcony. I opened my eyes and gasped at the room's beauty. To my right was a white bricked fireplace that had a mirror above it. Plants were strewn about the place which gave it a homey feel. Two loveseats were available in front of the fireplace with a fluffy rug on the floor. The kitchen was seperated by the island countertops and a spiraling staircase led up to where I assume the bedrooms were at. Sarah leaned against the railing and was jumping around all giddy.
"It is amazing." I agreed with her and went over to the fireplace. I started a small fire and smiled back at her.
"Let's get unpacked shall we?" She flashed me an even bigger smile and ran off into a random room. I chuckled at her actions and went to unpack my bag. I had just pulled out the first item when someone knocked.

"Come in." The door opened to reveal Aro. I gave him a small smile as he closed the door behind him for privacy.

"My guard did find the Cullens but they were just passing through. They are currently on their way to Brazil but a layover flight made them stay in the city." I nodded and wondered if it was just the two I saw.

"Apparently they have all seperated for the moment." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and closed my eyes.

"I don't blame them for anything that happened." Aro just nodded.
