Chapter 10

~Bella's POV~

I jumped from Carlisle's back as we reached the river dividing the two races. The wolves were staring us down and I could feel the uneasiness from everyone. I went to stand inbetween both parties.

"If I can, the wolves must be closer. Would you allow them other for a few minutes?" I asked Carlisle before I started my explanation.

"Of course. Please." He waved over the wolves but they didn't move. I sighed and reached out to Sam's mind.

"Sam, this witch that killed Charlie must pay but we must work together."

We will not break the treaty.

"You will not be breaking the treaty if Carlisle is inviting you over."

I thought Edward was the mind reader.

"He is but I have many different talents that prove useful at times. Do you want to see what happens when I am pissed off?"

No

"Good." I moved sideways as the wolves all jumped over the river.

"Now, I must set up a mind link so that if you see her or anything to do with her I will know. It won't hurt but it won't be very pleasant."

Just get it over with.

"Rude." I took a deep breath and was about to say the spell when a cackle rang out through the air.

"Did you really think I was gone for good?" She floated down from the trees and I growled towards her.

"You ran away like a coward."

"It's called self-preservation. That mind link won't work though. I've tried doing it before and it did nothing." She checked her nails acting bored. I growled at her and she laughed. She laughed!

"The mind link will work, Eleanor-"

"Eleanor was never here. She was killed years ago because she didn't follow orders." She walked behind a tree and she was suddenly Eleanor.

"No. No, I don't believe you! I confided in her but..." How could I have not seen through the disguise?!

"You idiot. Did you really think I would've let her live after what she did?! She tried to kill me for my power! I won't let it happen again!" She transformed back into her own form and lifted herself above everyone. I led everyone into her trap and now she's going to kill them all. I felt my power run through my veins and I lifted myself as well. On the way up I traded my clothing for something more battle worthy. A black corset was holding a green flowing top on me, skin-tight black leggings, and black stiletto heels are what I adorned myself with. I grinned at her as she gave a wicked smirk of her own. I summoned a sword and charged towards her as she summoned duel daggers. She easily blocked my attacks but she wasn't getting away. I muttered a spell that would keep her near me at all times so vanishing wasn't an option. She pushed me down into the ground and I groaned standing up. I looked towards the vampires and wolves surrounding us.

"Leave." I walked towards my mother but the others joined me.

"We won't leave you, tell us what to do." Edward said as he came up to me.

"You'll get yourselves killed, no way." He smiled at me and I couldn't stop him.

"We weren't asking for permission. Now, let's kill this witch." I smirked and turned towards Fera.

"Hmm, such bravery but it's misplaced." She shot out an orb of power and it held everyone back.

"This battle is only between my daughter and I." I could feel the others staring at me and I vowed to explain later.

"Send them away then. No more casualties than necessary." I tried reasoning with her.

"Oh, my dear daughter, they are going to watch you die." She reached out and held my throat with an invisible force. I clawed at my neck but it didn't help. I summoned something deep within me and the ground shook at my call. Necromancy. I saw people coming up from the ground and reached towards Fera. She just laughed and threw them away from her as they reached her. One had snuck up behind her and it distracted her enough to let me go. I coughed and rubbed my neck as if it would help. I put away the sword and ran to help everyone get freed. I reached my hands against the wall holding them and grunted as I pulled on it to fall. I brought fire to me and burned it away.

"Watch out!" I ducked as I briefly saw a metal pole being thrown past my head. I turned around and she was in a pool of burning bodies.

"Necromancy is my talent, not yours." She flicked her hand up and I felt hands on my ankles.
"Ahh!" I tried prying the hands off but it wasn't doing anything. I saw a purple haze come from my hands and they let go only to wrap around Fera's ankles. She cried out and tried the same thing I did except it didn't work.

"How?! You aren't this powerful!" I smirked and walked towards her. I grabbed her neck and squeezed.

"After our last engagement you gave me some of your power. Did you forget about that because I sure didn't." She brought her hands up and was clawing at my arms.

"You'll only corrupt yourself if you kill me." She smiled but so did I.

"You don't have to worry about that." The hand around her throat glowed white and I relished in her screaming in pain. I grunted as it burned me too but this is the way it has to be done. I looked back at Edward and gave me a small smile as tears ran down my face.

"I love you." I whispered before the white light enveloped Fera and I before it faded to show a white void surrounding us. I let her go and she stumbled away from me.

"What did you do?" She lifted her hand up but it did nothing. I smiled at her and waited for our judgement.

"I killed both of us. Now judgement awaits for us." She started breathing heavily and I looked at her curiously.

"Scared?" She just gave a growl but it was cut short as footsteps thundered our way. A huge being that was otherworldly stopped right in front of us.

"Fera Inman, Isabella Swan, welcome." I gave him a bow but Fera did not. I heard him make a noise and then I was alone with him.

"What?" He hummed at me and I gulped.

"You're time on Earth is not yet over. I will see you much later." I was then blinded with light and pain radiated throughout my entire body. I screamed in pain as my heartbeat drowned out any other noise. I felt hands on me and I trashed around trying to get rid of them and they were gone.
"She won't let us move her."
"I'll stay with her."
"Bring her back when she wakes up."
I must've passed out cause when I opened my eyes next everything looked so clear. I breaded in and was assaulted with so many smells. The flowers nearby, the pine trees, a lavender scent, and wet dog. I moved fast enough that I put about 10 feet of distance between me and the wolf.
"Jake?" I didn't see a wolf, only Jake.
"Hey Bella." I sighed and smiled at my friend.
"How long was I out?" He looked at me in wonder.
"A little over three days." A new voice said and my gaze snapped towards it.
"Edward." I smiled at him and he seemed to be dazed for a split second.
"How do you feel?" A sudden burning sensation came through my throat and I brought my hand to cup my neck.
"I got it from here Jacob, go home. You need to hunt. Come on, I'll help you." I just nodded and followed him as Jake turned and left. I looked around amazed at how I could see everything even if I was moving faster than ever. Edward suddenly stopped and I almost crashed into him.
"Okay, just close your eyes and breath." I gave him an amused smile but did as he said.
"Smell the blood nearby and let it take over." I could smell the blood and their heartbeats. I snapped my eyes open and ran towards it. A mountain lion was stalking some deer. I crouched low and snuck up onto it. I was a few feet from it when it turned around and growled at me. I growled back before it pounced at me but it's claws did nothing against my skin. I snapped it's neck and and the animal fell limp. I quickly drank it's blood before it got cold. The mountain lion was a little big so it filled me up.
"Alice is going to strangle you." I looked at my outfit but just shrugged.
"She can always make this kind of outfit if she wants to."
"Come on. Let's go home." I took his outstretched hand and we ran back to our new family.
