After peeling off the drenched clothes from her body and removing her sparkly hair-tie from her wrist - placing it carefully on the side of the sink -, Amity slipped into the shower. It felt a little awkward, showering at someone else's place, but when she turned on the water and the first, warm droplets hit her skin, all her worries were forgotten about for just a moment. She closed her eyes as she let the water fall straight onto her face, rubbing her cheeks. She placed a hand on the somewhat see-through glass that kept the water from making the entire bathroom a water ballet, tracing the droplets with her finger in a moment of peace. With the help of the bottle of soap stood on a little, metal holder in the corner of the shower did she clean herself up - she then went to turn off the shower and got out to dry herself off.
After getting dressed in a long, black shirt with a V-neck trailing down in buttons, a pair of purple leggings decorated with silvery stars and some slippers, she tied up her hair the way Luz had done. she'd seen now in the mirror that it was actually a really cute way to wear her hair, and she felt bad for assuming it had looked bad before. She unlocked the door and sneaked into Luz's room, where the other girl sat on her bed reading what Amity recognized as manga, Amity's clothes neatly hung over the heater to dry.
Luz looked up with a smile that made Amity's heart skip yet another beat. "That looks great on you, Blighty." She said in a warm, meant tone - hiding then the blush it gave her behind the pages of her manga. Amity, in her clothes, in her room - together! This was like a full-on slumber party now, wasn't it? She wasn't entirely sure on what activities Amity would be into for the evening, but she was quite sure they could find at least one thing to enjoy together. Perhaps they could play the board game "Murder, Murder and more Murder" or she could dust off the old TV with VCR and they could watch an old horror movie like "The Werewolves are Also Vampires"... Wait, was Amity spending the night? Had this been discussed at all? Her eyes grew wide, thinking about where they'd sleep. If her series and books were anything to go by, if they just faced opposing directions when sleeping, they could share the bed in a completely platonic way! That way nobody had to be uncomfortable! AAAAAAAHHH.
Meanwhile, Amity was having a very controlled reaction to the realization that this was indeed a slumber party, without her usual clothes and surroundings or comfort stuff. At least, on the outside. She was somewhere between excited and terrified, like riding a rollercoaster. This was fine, right? Spending a night away from her unloving home, in a strange house with a strange girl she'd known for like, two days now? Luz wasn't some creepy guy - surely this was completely platonic, just a fun night with a new friend to have some shelter from the storm outside.
"Well, I suppose it's my turn to get some warmth." Luz said, awkwardly sliding off the bed, sticking to the wall closely to create as much possible distance between her and Amity. Somehow, this all feeling so real and it being so sudden, had made her just a tad nervous. Amity raised an eyebrow, nodding slightly and backing away from the door to let the other through. "I- I kept it nice and warm for you." What the hell was that creepy comment? "I meant - I, yeah, the shower's good. Sure made me feel just dandy." She said, clenching her fist and arching her elbow in an encouraging movement. Somehow it felt hotter in here than it had in the shower right now. Luz smiled, did her finger-guns and could just about utter "pew-pew." before leaving for the bathroom.
Amity grabbed her own face, blindly walking to the bed and letting herself fall limply on top. WHAT WAS THAT. Conversation had ever only felt this awkward with her mother, back when Amity still felt like saving their relationship. She could cry and laugh at the same time. Her clothes smelled like Luz - so did her covers and her room and just everything here. She didn't know why, but her scent alone made her weak at the knee and all... gooey in the chest. With a soft sigh she flung one arm open to lay on her back, staring then at ceiling. She hadn't noticed it was decorated with those luminescent star stickers - she'd had them in her own room, back home. Somehow the sight of them brought her comfort, like there was a little piece of home still here, with her, in this strange and unfamiliar place. Perhaps she should hang up her own ones again soon.
After a minute or ten, Luz also came into the room again finding Amity on the bed with her legs crossed, one arm being leant on by her head while the other held up the manga Luz had been reading. Apparently it was a fairly enjoyable story about a girl in some gothic castle, hosted by very buff yet somewhat generic vampire guys all with their own ways of fighting for the girl's affection. She hadn't gotten very far into the story just yet, but the art was very pretty - especially the girl. The guys she couldn't care less for, but the protagonist was very much her type - of friend!
Luz grew red in the face when she saw Amity reading "Taken Captive by Vampires - Oh No!" and yelled somewhat cartoonishly; "Nooooo..." she jumped flat on the bed and tried to take the manga back, giggling. Amity smirked, holding it up high. Luz reached for it, but couldn't quite grasp it without risking tearing the pages. "Damn these short nerd arms! You shall pay, Blighty!" The girls giggled, Amity even more so when Luz's hands reached for her waist to tickle her sides. In a reflex, Amity pulled her arms down and close to her body to stop Luz from tickling, tears of joy and slight stress welling in the corners of her eyes. The manga, meanwhile, was flung softly onto a pillow where it landed with a soft thud."Aha - Victory!" Luz yelled triumphantly, grabbing it tightly and standing on the bed to hold it up like one would in an epic movie quest. Amity, still laughing a bit. "Darn you Luz Noceda! I shall have my revenge one day." She said, pretending to lose strength and gasping, eventually dying because of the wounds inflicted by the hero. Luz sat down again next to her supposed corpse. Amity opened one eye to smirk at her, then got up as well.
"I didn't think you'd be into something so vampirically smutty." Amity commented, no judgement in her tone as she hugged her knees. Luz blushed and scratched the back of her head. "Geez, I don't even know why I read that one - maybe just for the art. I mean, all of them are so... attractive." Amity shrugged slightly. "The guys? They all have the same face, the hair's just a bit different..." She responded softly. Luz smiled shyly. "I mean, not just the guys. Don't you think the main girl is super pretty?" She asked, scanning through the pages for a good close-up of the protagonist, pointing at her. Amity grew red in the face, and nodded a bit crookedly, not completely confirming or denying.
"She kind of reminds me of you. A bit quiet and distant, but also smart, independent, beautiful." Amity felt herself turn into a complete tomato and had to look another way, while Luz tried hard to swallow her last word but it was a little too late for that now. "Beautiful... with words I mean! Very, uh, sophisticated." No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't deny she'd just called Amity beautiful, and the damage had been done to the lonely, water-witch's heart. She felt it swell and flutter, but it felt so wrong to be feeling this way about another girl. Was it really?
