"Well Blighty - "
"Don't call me that."
"Well Amity, what brings you to the magic well?" Luz asked. Amity just looked at her for a moment, then pointed at the dowsing rod in her hand. Luz smiled. "A water witch huh? Lemme guess, you're from somewhere dried up and barren, right?" Amity scowled, but was impressed by the other girl's knowledge about her hobby. At least she didn't have to explain to her what a dowsing rod was - although it would've been nice to have someone to explain it all to...
"Actually, I'm from Pontiac."
"Huh?"
"Michigan?" Amity explained with a wave of her hand. Luz shrugged, while King jumped out of her jacket and onto the ground. The creature sniffed around for a bit, unbothered by the two girls staring at him, until he locked eyes with Amity. She stared at him for a while, entranced by his yellow eyes that were kind, despite his rough appearance. A strand of green hair fell in her eyes, forcing her to blink and blow her hair away. "Oh, wait, here-"
Luz handed Amity a purple hair-tie, the cloth of which was interwoven with glittery string. It sparkled in the afternoon sun. The water witch stared at it for a while, much like she'd done with King - who was now unapologetically cleaning his privates - before closing her fingers around it. "T-Thanks." She scarcely more than uttered, putting the tie in her mouth and the rod on the ground so she could pull her hair back into a small ponytail. She tied it tightly, and looked to Luz of all people for confirmation it looked alright.
"Hmm... Oh, I know! Here, allow me." Luz said confidently after an inspection of the new hairstyle. Amity grew redder with each step the girl took towards her. Luz pulled out the ponytail, stuck it in her own mouth, and parted Amity's hair in such a way that only the top part was pulled back. When she was done, she tied it and admired her work.

"There, now you can see where you're going, belleza." Luz grinned widely. Meanwhile, Amity was conflicted by the flutters she felt in her stomach and the stupidity of the situation. She didn't know what 'belleza' meant, nor if she should be insulted or flattered. She decided to go for the latter, if only because Luz had helped her with something that had been bugging her. Perhaps she wasn't as bad as she seemed.
Luz scratched the back of her head, confused by the silence but shrugging it off. Much like how Amity thought Luz was odd, Luz found her just as strange in a completely different way.
"Luuuuuuuz!"
An older woman's voice rang through the air. Luz's eyes darted around and she turned her back to Amity. "I think someone's calling you, Luz." Amity urged suspiciously. Luz laughed nervously, replying; "What? I didn't hear anything."
"Luuuzz Nocedaaa!"
"Oh, I definitely heard something, Noceda." Amity insisted. "Abuelita..." Luz said under her breath. Why now did she have to call? It was the first time she met someone her age outside of school, and a water witch at that! Still, something bugged her. Was this girl part of the family that was going to move into the pink palace? She'd expected the children to be grown up, because her abuelita had once said she'd never rent the place to people with kids...
"Iiiii gotta go - But! I'll be back tomorrow. Same place same time?" Luz explained while pointing in all different directions in a fit of what seemed like nervousness.
"Sure." Replied Amity. It wasn't like she had anything to do tomorrow anyway, except unpack her things. Though she was someone who spent a lot of time alone, sometimes it was nice to have someone around to talk to - even if it was Luz and her oddball cat. Speaking of that creature, he was meowing on top of a rock, almost begging for Luz to pick him back up and stuff him in her jacket - and so she did, then jogging off to the bike that had been parked a ways away.
When Luz was seated and Amity had had some time to get her dowsing rod back and catch up, she turned to her new water witch friend again. "Don't be late! It's important." Luz said putting on her three-eyed mask again. "Oh and by the way - I'd wear gloves next time."
"Why?"
"Because that dowsing rod of yours - it's poison ivy." Amity's eyes grew wide and she let go of the stick immediately. Her face was disgusted as she wiped her hands on her rain jacket, Luz laughing in the background. Luz pointed two finger-guns at Amity, then grabbed her steering wheel and drove off, shouting over her shoulder;
"See ya later, Blighty!"
