Before the story starts, I'd recommend watching/reading the entire Naruto series before reading this. If you've already watched/read Naruto, then enjoy!

Credit to @EliteShinobiKitsune again! this is their plot and their details! I could never come up with this genius.

     There was a little boy walking down the streets of central Konahagakure, he was a bright happy child, always smiling courageously no matter what. He liked eating ramen- miso with extra chashu -and could often be found clad in an orange jumpsuit.

     Despite him being such a sweet and determined boy, the people of his village were often found glaring at him in hatred or disgust. The reason for that being that he had the demon fox, also known as the Kyuūbi no Yōko, sealed within him. He was oblivious to this fact, simply believing the villagers had their own vendettas.

     Wherever the boy walked the villagers would stare. They would talk of their hatred between poorly disguised whispers, some would even be brave enough to go up to him and abuse or berate him. Though most would fight or yell back, the boy did not. He would take the insults and attacks without much noise or complaint, for Naruto knew better than to upset the villagers.

     Though most villagers were aware of Naruto's obliviousness, it barely made them hesitate when they threw their insults or pushed him down. Even with Naruto's innocence in mind, many villagers were driven by hatred, and the trauma of what happened nearly 12 years ago.

~~~~~Flashback-no-jutsu~~~~~
The mighty tail of the kyuūbi swung dangerously, causing a swirl of ash and destruction wherever it slammed down. Within minutes small parts of Konohagakure were flattened and burned to nothing.
Villagers everywhere were screaming and running away from the kyuūbi, pleading to Kami to protect and save them, but their pleas seemed to fall upon deaf ears...
As the southern district slowly became nothing but ruin, the Yondaime Hokage stood atop the Hokage Mountain, glaring at the kyuūbi with great anger and hatred.
'Why must this happen today? And now of all times?' He thought solemnly.
His wife -Kushina- had just given birth to their son, Uzumaki-Namikaze Naruto. Almost as soon as the baby was born, his life was put under threat.
Upon Naruto's birth an orange masked man with a black cloak appeared, he grabbed the baby and held his hand threateningly above his face. The man spoke with a deep voice. "Fourth hokage Minato, step away from the jinchūriki. Or else this child will die."
Minato scowled, cursing inwardly at the barrier that had apparently failed. How could it not work? Upon Minato's silence the masked man pulled out a kunai and spoke again. "Get away from the jinchūriki, don't you care what happens to the brat?"
As a desperate attempt to keep his son safe, Minato spoke out to the man in front of him. "Please, stay calm."
It seemed the mask man nearly laughed, he responded cooly. "I am as calm as can be."
The masked man threw the newborn baby into the air, attempting to impale the child on his kunai. Kushina cried out her son's name, fearing he would die before even living. The Hokage caught the baby before he could be harmed though, and held his baby securely to his chest. Despite the safe catching of Naruto, the masked man chuckled darkly.
At the same moment of his location change, Minato noticed the paper bombs placed secretly onto Naruto's blanket. The blanket was tossed away instantly, and as he jumped out of the small building the force of the explosion flung him forward. He held his son tighter than ever as he landed harshly on the ground.
With Kushina
As Kushina stood, bound to the high rock pillars, she worried for her son and husband. Soon enough though her attention was brought to the masked man standing calmly in front of her.
As the kyuūbi was finally released, he quickly tracked down his 'freer' and tried to attack him. He felt angry at the mysterious masked man, angry for removing him from his one place of contentedness.
He was angry that he had been removed from Kushina, no doubt it had hurt her. He didn't want Kushina to be hurt, he loved her, he had called her kit and given his word that he wouldn't attempt to escape while she gave birth.
His attempts at harming the masked man seemed futile, he did no damage. After multiple failed attacks he looked at the masked man, looking into his eyes, which showed a sharingan with three spinning tomoe.
Though he didn't realize it, at that moment he had been placed in a certain genjutsu, one where he believed Kushina was the masked man and the masked man, Kushina. He attempted to crush Kushina under one of his paws, but Minato arrived and grabbed her, using his teleportation jutsu to finally bring her to her son.
Upon arrival, Kushina could see him laid down in a bed large enough to fit the three of them. Minato laid her on the bed, right next to Naruto, her son, who she was seeing closely for the first time. She felt the tears well up in her eyes as she whispered to her husband. "Thank you, Minato."
As her tears finally fell, Minato felt sorrow for leaving her already after being gone once before. He quickly put on his hokage cape, eager to stop the destruction that the kyuūbi was no doubt causing. Before leaving he turned to his wife. "I'll be back."
~~Following Minato~~
As he faced the masked man a deep feeling of dread coursed through him, as he had finally realized why this chakra signature felt so familiar. He felt his anxiety skyrocket as he asked what was on his mind, he somehow sounded calm and collected. "Obito... is that really you?"
"So you finally realized it was me... sensei." Said the man who was now revealed to be obito. He hummed as he removed his orange mask, revealing that the right side of his face held the appearance of something that may have been crushed.
Hey! So as it's been mentioned a hundred times, this is not my original work. I read this story a while ago and it's recently been put up for adoption, so I gladly took the opportunity to build on a story that I loved so much! I hope you enjoy this chapter, and there will soon be more to come!
