"Run through my mind... just you and I."

Afternoon

~Michael~

I locked the door behind me and started down the hallway to the stairs that would bring me to the first floor of this dirty ass motel.

They creeked with every step, almost seeming like they were going to cave in on me.

I reached the lobby where Ryker, Kilo, Arrow, and Mordecai were waiting.

The lady at the front desk was eyeing us suspiciously. Her intuition was right, but I wasn't 'bout to risk getting caught.

I took my gun out of my holster and started toward her. Her eyes widened in fear as I approached her, pointing it right at her head.

"Go in the back. Don't come out until you hear this bell ringing." I pressed down on the bell that was on the desk a few times. "And when you come back I want a key for a rental car and a refund for the room. I won't be staying tonight."

The woman nodded without any words before scurrying into the back, tripping along the way.

I laughed to myself at how pathetic she looked. Women were easy to scare.

"Anyways." I said, making my way back over to them. "You all know why were here obviously." I said directing my question to Arrow and Ryker.

They nodded.

"So this is simple. There's no way y'all can fuck this up. Destiny did her part, now I need you guys to do yours. Y' hear me?" I asked, letting some of that Gary in me come out.

"Tell us what we need to do. Well do it." Ryker said as smoke blew from his cigarette.

"Joey. I've heard word that he goes to that Ragusa restaurant downtown every Friday night, around seven and leaves at nine. I want y'all posted outside that restaurant so once he leaves you can light him up. He'll be drunk out of his mind and won't even know what hit him."

"Consider it done." Arrow said.

Kilo inhaled sharply as if to keep himself quiet. I'm glad he didn't speak. I still had a loaded gun on me and no ones to say what'll pop off today.

I'm just in one of those moods.

Ryker and Arrow left the lobby as soon as I finished talking. The time on my watch told me that they had about four hours to get this done. We'd be able to leave tomorrow.

I walked to the front desk and rang the bell. The lady came running back with my cash refund and car key in hand .

I snatched it from her hands and placed the cash in my pocket without handing her anything as simple as a thank you.

I couldn't be worrying about more than one woman's feelings. The fact that I even cared about one woman's feelings was a shocker.

Damn, I had a weird way of showing it.

I went back up to the room where Destiny laid quite uncomfortably on the bed.
