"I don't understand why destiny would let us meet, knowing that we could never be together."

Sunday, May 23rd

Morning

~Destiny~

I glanced at the clock on my wall. It was only nine-thirty. I never wake up that early on a Sunday.

Maybe I subconsciously woke myself up earlier because Daniel and I were supposed to go down to station.

We had all day to do that. Besides, it's my sleep in day.

I rested my head back on my pillow, fully intending to drift back into a deep slumber. I dosed off pretty quickly. That's why it didn't phase me when I heard a loud crash. I figured it was something outside, so I ignored it.

I was jolted awake by the sound of a gunshot ringing throughout the house. My heart pounded as I started to panic.

"Daniel?" I called.

I heard the footsteps of multiple people running up the stairs.

There's people in my house?

I remembered the gun that Daniel had put at the top of my closet for situations like these. Before I could even get out of the bed to grab it, my bedroom door swung open and I was being held at gunpoint by five men.

The same guys from yesterday.

"Get up!" One of then ordered.

I was frozen in fear. I couldn't move if I tried.

"I said get up!" He screamed again.

I still didn't budge.

Two of the men came over me and yanked me off the bed by my arms. I screamed and kicked and tried to get them away as best as I could, but they were much stronger than I was.

"Grab everything. Her phone, her laptop, her everything." One of them said.

"No! Please!" I begged.

One of the guys holding me tightened his grip on me. "Shut up!"

I did as he asked out of fear for my life.

Daniel, where are you? You were supposed to protect me.

They turned my room upside down, and inside out. They took every notebook and electronic I had.

"I think we're good. Let's go."

They dragged me out of my room and down the stairs. I was hurried out of the door, but not before I took a quick glance behind me.

I caught a glimpse of Daniel laying on the living room floor in a pool of his own blood.

"Daniel!" I screamed as tears flowed down my face.

"I won't say it again. Shut up!" One of the men said into my ear.

I shut my mouth. Everything turned into a blur. My legs got heavier and it became harder to breath.

The next time I blinked, I blacked out completely.
