It was a breezy Sunday, you were baking cookies with your best friend, Tia. It's a thing for the both of you to hang out at each others' house every weekend. This week, it was her turn.

As you shoved the tray of cookie dough into the oven, Tia spoke up, "y/n-san, wanna come with me to a skateboarding race?". " A skateboarding race? Where at?", you asked. "There's this place called S. It's some sort of underground no-holds-barred skateboarding race",she explained.

Your face showed pure confusion. Your friend gave up on explaining and sighed. " I figured that maybe i should go there for the last time. Please come with me, y/n-san", she pleaded. "I mean, sure. Why not?", you hesitantly said. "Great! I'll meet you on 7:50 pm at XX Cafe", she said.

"When is it though?", you asked. "Tonight at around 8:00 pm", she said. " but things could get pretty rough, though", she jokingly growled.

Tia stick her tongue out as you did too. Then she rested her chin on her palm. "Are you sure you're okay, y/n? Have you been practicing lately?", your friend asked. You let out a sigh. "Of course I have".

A/N: For those who read this when i first posted this, I decided y/n to be an iceskater. She's just training for now to win junior skatings and maybe she'll debut when she's around 19. I haven't decide yet but yeah, that's basically how it's gonna go.

"But let's not talk about that", you laughed it out. "When are the mid-terms again?", you tried to change the subject. "I think it's next month? Seriously, why are you asking me as if I care when mid-terms are?", she giggled as you laughed along with her.

Time skip

You ran downstairs and look at the clock "sh!t, it's 8:07 already?!", you swore under your breath. You got out and locked the door behind you. You thought for a minute that you wouldn't make it on time. You can already imagine how mad Tia is by now.

Just then, an idea popped in your head. You headed inside and grabbed your skateboard. It's been a few years since you last used it so you were a bit rough but that's all you could think of. Without thinking any further, you quickly made your way to the cafe.

" I hope Tia isn't that mad".

:: IN FRONT OF THE COFFEE SHOP ✨☕️

You saw your friend's figure and approached her from her right. "Hey, Tia. I'm sorry I'm la-" , " Damn y/n do you what time it even is?! We're gonna be late for the race", she pouted. "I know and I'm sorry. It's not like i meant to be late", you calmly said.

"Whatever, let's go", Tia pointed ahead. She went there by foot while you went with your skateboard. So Tia just simply told you where to go.

"We're here!", Tia exclaimed. "I thought this was a skateboarding race", you said as you saw bodyguards guarding the main entrance. They were looking at you weird.

"It is. But only for the members. Every member has some sort of badge or sticker thingy as a symbol that you're a part of it", she explained.

"How'd you become one, though?", you furrowed your eyebrows.

" Oh. It was b/n's. I took it from him when i found out he cheated on me. I thought that might be the last time I'll be here so that's why I brought you along", she said.

"He took me here on our 100th day anniversary", she shrugged. Your lips parted into an 'o' shape as a sign that you understood what she said.

You both passed the guards when Tia showed them the badge. The place was crowded with people. You got off your skateboard started walking as there were many people.

The race had already begun.Your friend held your hand and dragged you into the crowd. Through the screen, you saw a boy wearing a green cat-ear hoodie with black and purple striped sleeves.

You stopped for a moment and tugged your friend's arm. "Who's that?", you pointed at the screen.

"Oh him? That's Miya. Miya Chinen. He's the one of the professionals in skateboarding. Can you believe that the boy is twelve? Some people are just out of this world", Tia said.

"Come on! Let's wait at the finish line", she said as she pulled you through the crowd again and ran to the finish line.

As you both got to the finish line, you watched the race through the screen. " woah, he's not bad" you thought.

You never thought that a boy his age would be that talented and compete with people who were way older than him.

The racers were getting close to the finish line. You were excited to see who won. You were hoping  that the boy with the green hoodie would win.

You were cheering alongside your friend when a few men standing not far from you were fighting and started pushing each other.

The fight got closer to you and Tia but you didn't want to get involved.

You avoided them and moved slightly forward. Those men started yelling at each other. Even their friends tried to stop the fight but it didn't seem to be much help.

You kept moving forward to stay away from those vicious dudes and didn't notice that you were getting a little too close to the racing track.

You couldn't handle it anymore. They were disturbing your personal space and you just had to stop them.

As you were about to turn around, one of the guys pushed the other guy, making him fall on his back.

You tried to avoid him but the man pushed you out of reflex, causing you to stumble on your feet and onto the racing track."y/n!", Tia screamed out as she tried to reach out for your hand, which she failed to do so.

You looked to your left and noticed the racers were close and one of them had already crossed the finish line. The skater was skating at a high speed and couldn't stop in time.

You were in the state of shock and couldn't manage to move a single muscle in your body.
