"Welcome!", the worker at the cafe greeted you both as you and your coach walked in. You slightly bowed at the worker as you took a seat and order a cup of mocha latte.

You had just finished your interview with XXMagazine and told your coach that you wanted grab a drink. It was a weekday so there weren't many people.

You came to the interview with your mother and your coach. Just as the interview ended, she left you without saying a word.

Of course you were furious about it. First she scheduled you to an interview. Now this.

You took a sip of your drink. "Mmh. This never fails to make me happy", you said as you stirred your straw.

"I'm glad it did. You looked like you were about to end someone", your coach laughed in relief.

Oh yes. You were about to end someone. Luckily, you had your mocha latte by your side. You chuckled and took another sip of your drink.

"Um.. c/n-san. Can I talk to you about something", you said as it caught your dear coach's attention. "Sure. What is it, y/n-chan?".

"I'm thinking of quitting ice skating. For good".

Your coach choked on her machiato. Did she hear you say that you wanted to quit? She eyed you in disbelief.

"A-are you sure? Are your parents okay with that?", she asked in shock. This was very big news indeed.

You looked down and shook your head sideways. "I'll tell them when the time comes", you smiled reassuringly.

"If you're happy with your decision, then I'm happy too. It's a shame because you're my favourite", she sighed.

"Of course I'll come visit sometimes", you giggled. "The rink is like my second home".

After a few moments, you both left the cafe. "Thank you. Please come again!".

As you stepped out, you saw a cat on the sidewalk. "Awwe, a cat".

You approached it slowly and pet it. "Pretty, pretty kitty", you cooed. After you were done petting it, you stood up. You looked at across the street.

Your heart stopped. Are you dreaming? Are you hallucinating or is that really Miya at the other side?

You blinked a few times. "Miya?".

He was in front of a convenient store. What was he doing here? Not wanting to leave these questions unanswered, you crossed the street and headed towards him.

"Miya-kun?", you called. He turned around. "Y/n-san, what are you doing here?", he asked with a smile. "I should be asking you that. What are you doing here?".

He chuckled and scratched the back of his neck. "I had a magazine shoot. Nothing much".

"Nothing much? You disappeared for days and got me worried! I thought you think I was a weirdo".

"You are", he grinned. Your eyes widened. "H-Hey!".

"I was just busy. I'm sorry I didn't contact you. Now, why are you here?".

"I'm with my coach. I was at an interview earlier", you said with a sigh. "Oh. Speak of the devil. There she is!".

"Y/n-chan! Please don't run off like that again". She turned her gaze to your friend. "This a friend of yours?", she asked.

You nodded. You pulled Miya by the hand. "Miya, this is my coach. Coach, this is Miya Chinen", you introduced.

"You're good at picking your friends, y/n. Who knew you'd end up being friends with a candidate for the nationals".
