You were sitting at the table, you parents' gaze were set upon you. Munching on your food, your head fixated on your plate as you took a glance at your parents.Your mother had invited you over since they had a 'nice' family dinner. Not to forget that they were the ones who technically kicked you out.
Your mother slammed her fork on the table. "Why aren't you saying anything?? You should be grateful that we even invited you for dinner".
You looked up, keeping your poker face on. You hummed and tried to start a conversation.
"So how's work, dad?", you asked in a provocatively cheery voice as you turned to your father. Your father took a deep breath as he tried to push away his anger.
"Busy. We're trying to do a collaboration with another company....".
You weren't really paying attention since your dad started talking about how successful he is.
"And- um (Y/N)? Are you even listening?".
"Huh. Oh, yeah of course I was", you replied as you played with your food.
Your father sighed at your behaviour. He signalled your mother to talk to you.
"So I heard that semi-finals are coming up. How's your program? I'd look forward to see it", she said
"Oh. About that".
As those words left your mouth, it caught your parents' attention as they looked at you.
"I'm thinking of quitting".
Your father stood up and looked at you with rage in her eyes.
"What do you mean ' I'm thinking of quitting' ?? You haven't even made it to your senior debut!".
You only sat there in silence. Not giving a single damn of what he was saying. You had enough of playing dog in the family.
"AREN'T YOU GOING TO SAY SOMETHING??".
"As a matter of fact. No".
"I have made up my mind, and there's nothing you can do to make me change it", you added.
You stood up and pushed the chair back in anger, stomping to the front door.
Your father had enough of your nuisance as he and your mother tailed you. "Get back here, you brat!".
"What else do you want from me-".
As you turned to face them, you felt a sting on your right cheek. You hissed in pain. Your father had landed a slap on you.
"You're no longer my daughter. I've had enough of you and your insolence".
"Great. Because I wish I wasn't your daughter to even begin with. I wished it was you two who died that day instead of big bro, the only family that actually appreciated and loved me!".
With that, you stormed out, leaving your parents fuming with anger.
Unfortunately for you, the rain started to pour. You didn't have an umbrella and it was getting heavier. Your tears that were streaming down your cheeks were mixed up with the rainwater.
You reached for your phone and looked for shelter. There weren't many bypassers and the rain was heavy so nobody noticed or heard your sniffles.
You wanted to talk to Miya so bad. But how could he possibly understand how you feel. How could anyone possibly understand how you feel.
You sat there, waiting for the rain to stop.
Time skip
It was lunch break. You didn't have any appetite to eat because of what happened last night.
"Y-y/n? Are you okay? You've been feeling down since this morning. You were fine yesterday.. What happened? ", Tia asked.
You didn't answer.
"I get it. It must've been hard for you. I won't force you to talk. Tell me if you're ready, mkay?".
As she was about to stand up, you grabbed her hand. You looked up and gripped on her hand, indicating that she should sit.
"What's up?".
"I- don't even know where to begin..".
"Don't worry, take it slow. I won't force it out of you", she added as she pat your back.
"I wanna quit ice skating".
Tia widened her eyes. You were expecting this since everyone's reaction was the same.
"whoa whoa hold your cheese crackity quackity crackers and say that again in English".
"I said I'm done with ice skating", you stated firmly.
"Woah.. y/n you've finally got the guts to stand up to your parents, didn't you?", a proud smile crept up her face.
"But why were you crying? Aren't you happy about it?", she asked.
"I don't know, Tia. I don't understand this feeling", you said as you clenched your heart.
"Was it that obvious I cried?".
"Girl, you came in looking like a huge ball of depression and your eyes were red. Who the heck wouldn't notice??".
You whined and smacked yourself in the head.
"Whatever it is... I'm proud of you (Y/N)-chan. You know what? Let's eat out together after school! My treat".
"Sure.. that'd be nice".
She closed in and gave you a tight hug. "Awwww I'm so happy for you. I swear".
"Yeah yeah, I heard you the first time, Tia..", you said as you pushed her hand away.
