"Perseus! Slow down!" I heard Artemis call from behind me and Jake
"Hurry up, slow pokes" Jake called back to them
"Jake, I swear to every god I've ever met that if you don't shut up, you won't wake up tomorrow" Thalia said angrily and she was crawling up the hill "how do you even know where we're going" she directed at me
"He's the god of adventure, Thalia" Artemis answered for me "I bet he's able to know exactly what's in his close surroundings or a targeted area"
"Exactly right, arty" I responded "being a god has its perks"
"Oh right, because it's not like everyone here either lives with or is a god, I think we know Jackson" Thalia huffed
I sighed "there's some animals over there, can you sense them, Artemis?"
"I can, but they don't feel like regular animals"
We breached the top of the mountain and saw what Artemis knew were not regular animals.
"Colchis Bulls" Artemis said "two of them"
"Umm, Colchis bulls?" Jake responded
"Big mechanical bulls that breath fire" I told him, "there's two of them, I fought them when they breached the camp half blood barriers"
"Cool!" He responded
"No, not cool" Artemis scolded him
"So what do we do" Jake asked
"I think you two should sit this one out" Artemis told the lieutenants
"Aww, why" they both said in unison
"Because" I said "And I hate to agree with arty on this but no matter how good you are at fighting it is a very bad idea for less than a battalion of warriors to fight two Colchis bulls at once"
Artemis looked at me with, could that be admiration, nah couldn't be, though she didn't seem to protest when I called her arty, maybe she's warming up to me "Artemis and I will fight the bulls, you two stay here and hide"
"Fine" the both said slightly out of sync this time.
I drew Riptide as Artemis drew her bow and we stepped over the mountain top and focused on the bulls. The bulls turned in our direction and they looked angry "ooohh this was a bad idea" I said
"You're immortal, remember"
"Obviously, doesn't make it any less scarier"
We slowly jogged down towards the bulls.
They immediately noticed us, hence why they charged.I feinted right while Artemis did the same thing but left leaving one bull of each of us. My bull charged so I rolled left and struck its leg making it quickly topple over. Artemis must've gotten distracted by something at the same time since she got his by a charging bulls celestial bronze horns and was thrown back and almost split a tree in half, she started bleeding golden ichor and she looked unconscious at the base of the tree.
My eyes gravitated towards Artemis and I rushed over to help her but was intercepted by the remaining bull.
I jumped on top of the bull and dove my sword into its forehead and it quickly toppled to the ground and became inactive.
I rushed to Artemis's side and started to feed her ambrosia and nectar, she was still conscious but barely.
Thalia and Jake came rushing down the mountain and asked if we were ok.
"Yes, I'm fine but Artemis isn't we need to get her back to the camp to rest, hurry"
I picked her up bridal style and we all started running.
Time skip
By the time we got back to the campy he hunters and adventurers looked like they were having an insult war, but there was no time to pay attention to that we needed to get Artemis into her tent.
Thalia yelled to everyone to tell them to stop what they were doing and help.
Artemis had almost full consciousness now and she said in a hushed tone "Percy, can you take to to my bed in my tent, please"
"Yeah, sure" I responded
We got into the camp and I walked Artemis into the tent and we got a few strange looks from the adventurers and especially the hunters. Thalia closed the tent after us, leaving just me and Artemis in her luxurious "tent" that was more of a disguised mansion. Ok that might've been an exaggeration, all I'm saying it was a bit larger on the inside than out, like I could fit a queen sized bed and a tv, it was practically the same size as your average bedroom.
I placed her onto the bed and gave her some more nectar. I was about to leave until i heard Artemis say "wait, can you stay until I fall asleep, you know if I need more nectar and stuff"
I felt like she was completely milking it but I decided to stay anyway. "So what distracted you?"
"Nothing, it was simply a fluke"
"I don't believe you"
"Fine, I guess you could say I was impressed but the way you defeated that bull so quickly, I was put off guard and I was hit, happy"
"The great Artemis!" I said with fake shock "Impressed by a man, I don't believe it"
"Shut it Jackson, before I shut it for you"
After that we stopped talking and I took a seat in an arm chair beside her bed. It got increasingly quiet until we both accidentally fell asleep, and to wake up to the worst wake up call in the history of forever.
