Zeus POV  3rd person

"Olympians!" Zeus bellowed "I have called you here to discuss a great matter"

"Why aren't Percy or Artemis here?" Apollo asked from his throne.

"This matter concerns them and I wish to leave both of them out of this decision. I fear there judgement will be clouded with preconceptions"

There was chattering amongst the gods.

"What the matter then?" Dionysus asked grumpily after trying and failing to pour himself a goblet of wine.

"Olympus has been unbalanced since Perseus joined our ranks"

The gods mumbled in agreement.

"I request we add another Olympian to our ranks" Athena stated "my daughter will do just fine"

Protests erupted across the throne room. Poseidon was the loudest in his protest. Apollo didn't suppress his thoughts on this 'shocking attempt at drama' either. The only person that actually stayed quiet was Dionysus, likely because he couldn't care less.

Zeus called for silence.

Athena spoke again "I challenge any one of you to name a better, more capable, stronger female hero of this age"

Silence fell over the Olympians.

"It is settled then" Zeus stated

Ares thought this was a fantastic idea and Aphrodite thought it would stir up some much needed drama on Olympus however Apollo felt horrible for what Percy is going to be put through.

Annabeth suddenly appeared in the middle of the throne room to everybody but Zeus and Athena.

"Annabeth chase" Zeus said "we are giving you a chance to become a god upon this throne room, do you accept?"

Without missing a beat Annabeth responded "I do"

She rose to the height of the gods. She had been declared the goddess of construction, architecture and the built environment.

The group quickly dissolved after this.

Percys POV

I had finally gotten a staff, I couldn't wait to show Artemis or Diana whatever but I thought I should take a bit of a break first. I went into town. I checked what was in stock at the local Walmart.

I was in the middle of the high street when I stared into the window of a McDonald's where I saw a familiar man. He had blonde hair a muscular build and a golden glow. Apollo. He raised his banana milkshake up like the scene in django unchained where Leonardo dicaprio raised his glass.

I rushed to the McDonald's. What could Apollo possibly want? I walked through the door and sat down opposite the god of archery.

"What on earth do you want?" I asked him

"I have bad news" Apollo replied, he sounded distraught "she's been made a god"

"Who?" I asked as Apollo pushed a box of ten chicken nuggets in my direction indicating for me to eat. I did. They were cold.

"I think you know who"

"Annabeth"

"Yeah, dude I tried to stop it so did Poseidon. This won't go down well on Olympus"

"Thank you, Apollo, for telling me"

"Don't mention it" he said "no seriously, if Zeus finds out I'm here I'll be turned into a mortal again before you can say lester  Papadopoulos, and in all honesty, I'd rather not"

I felt like I was going to be sick and not just because I had eaten an entire box of cold chicken nuggets.

"If you wanna start a war or something, I'll be on your side. I recon most of Olympus will be" Apollo said

"Who?" I asked

"Me, your dad, Hermes, Hephaestus,Demeter probably, hades and Hestia. They're your safest bets I recon" Apollo said with a break in his voice "I better get going before Zeus realises I'm here, good luck Percy"

Apollo dissipated in a ball of golden flames and was no longer anywhere to be seen. At least he's taken his Big Mac with him.

I was speechless. Annabeth had been made a god. God of what, being the worst. Who's idea was this... I quickly reached the realisation that it would've been Athena, she never liked me. I sat back in the plastic McDonald's chair and contemplated everything I had just been told.
