Artemis/Diana POV:
After returning to the wolf house I went to hunt, I had to have time to myself to think. After everything that had happened I needed to clear my mind.
Deep in the forest, I nocked and arrow into the drawstring of my bow and set aim upon a buck not too far way. I had to stay focused on the animal lest I let my mind slip.
Just as I loosed the arrow a voice spoke in my mind.
'Ohh. You've really done it now' Diana's voice spoke in my mind causing me to miss the shot and making all wild animals in the vicinity to hightail it away.
"Shut up"
'Me!? Me shut up? You're the one that should've kept your mouth shut about your feelings on Perseus' Diana's voice was heavily critical 'three thousand years of virginity and maiden hood and you're prepared to throw it away for an upstart Greek god that only became one a few years ago'
I had nothing to say. As much as I did really like Perseu- Percy, a part of me felt like a traitor, a traitor to all of the hunters I've sworn to maiden hood, especially the ones that weren't here anymore.
'Do you know what your irresponsible relationship has done to Olympus?' I did know, me and Diana share a mind after all, she's here to remind me of it though 'after Annabeth made her way here and found you and Perseus here she is convinced that you two are sleeping together which will make the two of you enemies and, by proxy, make you enemies with minerva, Venus, Mars, and any other gods that decided to take their side. Don't see what you've done? Put us in the middle of a war. A war for love, something that you were never supposed to feel. You've massively screwed up and it's going to get us both killed.'
I began to massage my temples in hope to push Diana's thoughts out of my head but it didn't work "you don't know what I feel for him"
'You're right. I don't. Because I keep my vows'
Diana's stupid voice was starting to make me angry "stop talking!"
'No! You've brought this on yourself'
"Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!" I collapsed to the floor, forcing Diana's voice to quiet. Silencing your Roman half takes a heavy toll on your body, my nose started to bleed and my eyes felt like they were bulging from my head. In an attempt to distract myself I nocked an arrow and fired it into the tree line. A small squirrel fell from a branch.
Diana began to scream. A visceral guttural scream. The kind of scream you made after shattering a bone or severing an appendage.
After convulsing on the floor for far too long than I'd care to admit, a pair of warm, soft hands gripped my shoulders and lifted me back to my feet. Although I was dazed I could easily make out who it was.
"Artemis! Are you okay? What happened?" Apollos warm voice said, without his usual sibling cadence instead replaced my genuine care and worry for my wellbeing.
I wasn't able to reply however and instead collapsed into his arms.
Over the next few hours I drifted in and out of consciousness. I heard Lupa's voice, Percy's, apollos and several of the hunters and adventurers.
Percy POV:
I was sparing with Jake when the twins came over the hill leaving to the wolf house. "What in hades?" I bolted down towards them to check if Artemis was okay "apollo what happened"
"I'll explain later but you need to get her some nectar and ambrosia"
"Jake!" I called "go and get some ambrosia and nectar for Artemis quickly"
However Jake froze in his steps, of course, apollo was his dad, who he had likely never met before. I know exactly what this kid is going through right now. "Never mind just get Artemis to her bed, I'll get the ambrosia and nectar. And you should find Thalia on the way there.
Time skip
Artemis kept drifting in and out of consciousness and when she was lucid it was a fifty/fifty chance as to whether she'd scream a guttural scream or reach for my hand to comfort her.
I stood a few paces over from her bed talking with Apollo "so I guess she didn't trip over a rock?"
"Not quite mate" Apollo seemed to stay in his Greek form even while at the wolf house "she seemed to have some kind of mental break, not too dissimilar to what happened at the start of the giant war. Her Greek and Roman personas basically attacking each other"
"Will she be okay?"
"Yeah she will be, but I recommend making your way from the wolf house quickly, this place isn't doing her mind any favours and the longer you stay the worse it's going to get"
"You don't seem to be having any trouble with your personality"
"My Greek and Roman forms are too similar. You could count on one hand the amount of differences between me and apollo 2.0" Apollo seemed to flinch after saying '2.0' "Ow! Okay! Geez. Allow me to correct myself the new and improved apollo as my Roman counterpart would rather it be said"
"Do you have any recommendations on where to go?"
"Somewhere Greek, where Diana will have little power" Apollo said "if there is anywhere safe from the bad side of Olympus right now"
"So we'll want to stay away from Olympus, unless we get smited by a love goddess who gets off on making my life complicated, or a war god who just hates me... or a war goddess who hates me"
"Slim pickings"
"Camp half-blood maybe?"
"Potentially, you'd just have to make sure word doesn't get out that you're there, and even then, the Aphrodite, Athena and ares kids aren't exactly your biggest fans right now. But even if they hate you, they wouldn't dare strike three gods"
"Three?" I asked, confused.
"Yeah there's no way I'm not coming with you, with Artemis in this state, you'll need my medical expertise and my son, Jake, seems to have inherited more heavily the archery aspect of my godhood, so he won't be much use"
"Perfect. We'll leave as soon and Artemis is awake"
