TW: Violence, Attempted Suicide Bomb, Threatening to Murder

Y/N: Your Name

A/N: Finally! This is the last chapter for episode one. I had no idea that this episode was going to be so long to write, but it was worth it. Now, enjoy this chapter!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/N sat down in their seat, appreciating the fact that Terasaka wasn't there to pester. He was the reason Y/N had to keep this class from going into a shit-show. It wasn't long that Nagisa and the others entered the class. Y/N kept a watchful eye on Nagisa in particular.
"Okie Dokie!" The teacher exclaimed after writing on the board in chalk. "Your assignment this afternoon is to write a short poem. The final line should read: was tentacles all along."
The class groaned.
"Excuse me, sir. Really?" A girl asked.
"Really." Mr. Octopus answered. "When you complete your assignment, kindly bring it forward. You will be graded on creativity, grammar, and overall beauty of expression. Here's an example:
Not the storm of garden snow
Of flowers moving on
But, sprouting there instead,
Were tentacles all along!"
"Yeah, because that makes a whole lot of sense!" A boy, Isogai sighed. "Sheesh."
"You may go home once you finish."
The class groaned, another small and useless conversation sprouting.
"Um, sir! Question!" A green-haired girl raised her hand.
"Huh? Of course." Mr. Octopus stopped messing around at last. "Fire away, Kayano."
"Do we always have to call you 'sir'? You haven't given us a name. I think we need one. I mean, it would be awkward if we don't call you anything, right?" Kayano kind of rambled on for a second, but it did bring up a point.
"Ah. Well now... Trouble is that I don't have a name just give to people." Mr. Octo scratched his head. "Why don't you pick one for me? I'll take a short break while you do your work."
Nagisa looked up suddenly, Y/N was now alert. They didn't have a plan, but some way or another, Y/N would stop Nagisa. Before Mr. Octopus could leave, Nagisa stood up with his paper. It hid his grenade. Y/N watched closely, ready to stand up at any time.
"Seems the muse's favorite: Nagisa!" Mr. Octo waited for the boy.
Y/N stood up, waiting for Nagisa nervously. Terasaka didn't notice, too caught up in the scene. Nagisa had a hidden knife behind his book, though it wasn't the real weapon here.
Right when Nagisa get next to the teacher, Y/N started to run to the front. "Nagisa!" Y/N called. It was kind of startling to the other students.
Nagisa already swung at the questionable teacher, dust being kicked up. When the dust cleared, Mr. Octo held Nagisa's wrist still, taking the knife away with a tissue.
"What did I say about thinking outside the box?" The teacher took the knife away.
The rest of the class stared at Y/N, who was embarrassed by their seemingly random outburst. But, it wasn't long until Nagisa fell forwards to Mr. Octopus.
Almost in slow motion, for real this time, Y/N ran up to the board. "Stop!"
Terasaka blew the bomb up anways. Y/N was close enough that they felt the warmth from the grenade. At that moment, BBs flew everywhere in the classroom and everyone screamed and squealed.
"Yeah!!!" Terasaka yelled. His friends and he obviously had no regard for the two students that potentially got hurt.
However, they didn't know that in a single second, Y/N and Nagisa were thrown together in a molt from Mr. Octo, whilst he escaped. Everyone was deeply worried though, even as Terasaka and his minions hopped around and celebrated. The students were even more shocked for Y/N, the student they barely knew.
"You jerks!"
"What the hell have you done?!" Two boys exclaimed at the ungodly scenario.
"Huh? Never saw a suicide bomber coming? Did ya'?" Terasaka snarled.
"Terasaka!" Kayno. "What did you make Nagisa do? And... what about
Y/N?!"
"I'm sorry, you have a better idea? Besides, I didn't think anyone would interfere like Y/N did." Terasaka was feral, even for 3-E and this proved it. "I gave him a modified toy grenade filled with those stupid BBs and a spoonful or two of gun powder, so they would splatter around at a high enough speed." Kayano gasped. "Don't worry, it wasn't enough to kill anybody. I'll pitch in on their medical bills!"
As Terasaka bent down to Y/N and Nagisa's bodies, to his surprise, they were clinging onto each other, a strange wrap around them. They were both unscathed.
"Woah. Neither of them has so much as a bruise on them." Terasaka stared in wonder. "And what the hell is this membrane? Did the body like-"
"It's not a body, it's a husk." The teacher's angry voice caught Terasaka off guard. "I shed my skin once a month."
Y/N slowly opened their eyes. They let go of Nagisa right away and broke free of the shell along with him. Both of them tried to ignore the awkward position they were in a moment ago.
"I wrapped it around your classmates to protect them from the blast." After searching for a while, Terasaka's eyes met Mr. Octopus's very angry ones on the ceiling. He had his legs up spread upon the rafters so he could hold himself up. "I'm going to go out on a whim here and assume that you didn't see this coming. Terasaka, Yoshida, Marumastu!" The teacher's face contorted into a very pissed and pitch-black orb. "This was your doing! Wasn't it?!"
"U-us?" Yoshida answered with a scared, high-pitched voice.
"It was all Nagisa!" Terasaka pleaded.
In the blink of an eye, the teacher was gone, but the next second, he came back with three nameplates. The plates read: Yoshida, Terasaka, and Muramatsu.
"The nameplate off my house!" Terasaka explained.
Y/N knew where this was going. It was so obvious, and terrifying.
"Here's the deal, kiddos. The agreement I have with you're government forbids me from harming you. But, there's a catch. If you pull another irresponsible stunt like that again, there is nothing that says I can't harm someone else. Family, friends, everyone in the world, except for you if I feel like it." The now, terrifying creature laid out everyone's nameplates, even Nagisa's and Y/N's.
It was clear how horrible this school year would be. It was either murder, or this is the last year you're alive. Y/N smiled at that, this was a challenge, and they gladly accept it.
"Cmon! Threaten us," Terasaka had tears in his eyes from being so afraid. "I ain't afraid of no squid! Where do you get off blowing up the moon?! We got rights, y'know. Call us irresponsible, we're just defending ourselves!"
Suddenly, the whole atmosphere turned brighter. The teacher's face turned into the familiar orange one. "Of course, I know that! I'm not calling you irresponsible for trying to kill me. No, no, no." Mr. Octopus reached out a tentacle to Nagisa and Y/N to pat their heads. "As a matter of fact, Nagisa here gets full marks for technique. His composure was simply outstanding. And of course, Y/N gets extra credit for caring about their classmates." The teacher stopped patting the two student's heads and quickly turned to the three troublemakers. "However! None of you cared if Nagisa was injured, or if any of your other classmates got hurt, not even Nagisa, himself, it seems. Students with that attitude aren't fit to assassinate anyone!" The octopus's face turned purple at that. "You must believe yourself worthy of your target. That means taking pride in what you do, in yourselves, and each other! All of you are more than the sum of your parts."
It was strange how quickly Mr. Octopus's attitude changed. One second, he threatened the class, the next, he lectures us about self-worth. Y/N didn't know how to feel about it. They too quickly changed, they wanted to complete this challenging task, but now, Y/N isn't too sure.
