TW: Mentions of Violence, Mentions of Death
Y/N: Your name
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After class, Y/N silently got out of their seat and left. However, they looked around and explored the campus. They searched all of the forest, looked over all the cliffs, and even found some wild herbs and horseradish.
When they walked back, Y/N were met with Nagisa.
"Oh, there you are!" He waved to Y/N.
Y/N waved back confused, unsure as to why Nagisa was waiting for them. Y/N walked over to the boy, even though they were confused.
"What's in your hands?" Nagisa asked as he patted down, signaling Y/N to sit.
"Wild herbs and Horse Radish, I found them around here," Y/N said in a slightly monotone voice, sitting down next to Nagisa.
"I wanted to thank you," Nagisa said. "You were ready to risk yourself to save someone else. That is very brave of you."
Y/N grew an annoyed smile, "Your welcome, though there is no need to thank me. I was doing just doing what seemed right at the time."
Nagisa grew weary for a moment, carrying on with the conversation. "You really don't talk much, huh?"
"That attempt back there was downright stupid. You realize that, right?" Y/N's words took Nagisa back for a moment. Y/N got a stick from the ground and started scribbling. "Not only could you of died, but the explosion was also random. You can't control that type of explosion, so the BBs had a small chance of hitting Mr. Octopus."
Nagisa gasped, "Oh! I see what you're saying. But, wait... Mr. Octopus? Is that what you're calling our teacher?"
Y/N nodded. Their drawing stopped. The dust had a creature that looked like Mr. Octopus surrounded by randomly placed bullets. "Even though the BBs would be harder to dodge, the actual chance of being hit was low, to begin with. Numbers don't replace skill. Mr. Octopus said that to us earlier today."
"Oh ok," Nagisa looked down at the drawing. "What do you think we should have done instead?"
Y/N wiped the ground, so there was a fresh canvas. They started to draw again. "Something more direct would have done the job. It doesn't have to be completely direct, but something like a more controlled explosion under Mr. Octopus's desk would have been a better option." The drawing showed how the desk blocks an explosion from the students but aimed it at the teacher. "That way, none of the explosions would affect the class and only hurt our teacher."
"Wow." Nagisa stared at Y/N and their drawing for the moment. "This is amazing. Are you sure you're not a professional assassin?"
Y/N chuckled at the boy. "Yeah, I'm no assassin. I just had to learn how to outsmart the bullies at chess."
"Ah, I see." Nagisa was stunned at how his classmate was so calm and strategic. "You'll fit in around here, so you don't need to worry about bullies. We are all underdogs in E-class. But, I have to play chess against you sometimes."
Y/N smiled at Nagisa's kindness. It was refreshing for them. "Mhmm. See you around, blue boy."
Y/N walked back home and showed their findings to their family (whoever that might be), before heading to bed.
The next morning, Y/N hiked to the E-class campus. The hike was not as long and rocky as they had anticipated, so Y/N arrived early. Once they put their backpack away, Nagisa called over to Y/N.
"Hey, Y/N," Nagisa and his classmate behind him. "I want to show you something."
Y/N nodded and followed the two boys into the forest. They stopped at an opening where the teacher sat.
"There he is," Sugino said as he watched Mr. Octopus from behind the tree. "Chilling out back before the first bell without a care in the world. Reading a Hawaiian newspaper he picked up from Hawaii on the way here." Sugino turned to Nagisa, who leaned on a tree, Y/N was crouched behind him. "Nice, good work Nagisa. Thanks, I owe you one."
"Your welcome," Nagisa looked down on his notes. "Best of luck, Sugino."
"Yeah, this plan isn't too shabby," Y/N commented.
Sugino put his hand up, showing the baseball he glued BBs onto. "Heh, ten billion big, here I come."
Sugino lifted his leg, getting ready to throw. In one quick second, the ball was launched towards Mr. Octopus. However, it wasn't quick enough and in a blink of an eye, Mr. Octopus was behind all three of the students. All of them were shocked.
"Top of the morning to ya!" The teacher exclaimed. The three froze at the creature. "It's usually polite to reply."
Sugino turned back in utter confusion. He looked to the chair the teacher was in, and then back to Mr. Octopus. Y/N gained their composure again as they looked back at the creature.
"Yes, sir. Sorry, sir," Nagisa replied quickly. "Good morning, sir."
"A baseball embedded with government-issued anti-me BBs? Creative! Points for choosing a point of delivering quieter than the standard pop of a standard air rifle. Unfortunately, once airborne, the weapon gave me nothing but time." The teacher spoke. "There was enough time in fact, for me to organize a standard maneuver. A quick visit to the equipment room and I had (pardon the pun) a handy solution." In Mr. Octopus's hand was the baseball snatched up in a baseball mitt.
Nagisa and Sugino gawked, Y/N glared.
The first-period bell rang as the teacher walked away. "Tick tock, children. Graduation will be here before you know it. Right then, homeroom if you will please."
Sugino slouched and sighed, "Yes, sir."
"Don't be too cocky, Mr. I'm going to destroy the Earth," Y/N spoke. The angry tone in Y/N's voice was apparent. Mr. Octopus stopped and looked at Y/N. "I will gut you like the fish you are before then. By then, you'll regret that you ever challenged someone like me, got it?"
Mr. Octopus turned pale and squealed before zooming to class.
"Damnit," Sugino ignore Y/N's heavy threat to their teacher, as he was put down by the whole interaction. "So much for my fastball. Big shock there, I guess."
Nagisa turned to Sugino, a worried look on his face. "It was a good throw."
Y/N turned back and nodded. Sugino only sighed.
