Y/N: Your name
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"April is the cruelest month," The teacher wrote on the chalkboard. "Breeding lilacs out of the dead land..."
The truth is, that Y/N's teacher vaporized 70% of the moon. By March, Mr. Octopus will destroy the whole planet. Yet, his kind nature makes Y/N empathize with him... kinda? They still want to kill him, but Y/N feels that they'll regret it somehow. Oh yeah, and the class started calling the octopus Koro-sensei.
In a flash, Koro-sensei's tentacle reached back and grabbed Sugaya's notebook. He pulled it up front and looked at it.
"Sugaya!" Koro-sensei yelled angrily. His eyes gleamed in rage. The whole class shivered. "Not a bad likeness, I'll give you that, but I'm a little offended by the jawline."
Koro-sensei opened up the notebook and showed the whole class. The drawing was in pencil, the one Sugaya drew, and a red drawing over the pencil. The red was Koro-sensei's doing. It revised a jawline, a few more tentacles, and a note saying: "REALLY observe your subjects!".
"You don't have a jaw!" Maehara scolded his teacher.
And at that, the lunch bell rang.
"That's lunch people," Koro-sensei climbed towards the window. "If you excuse me, I have some important business to attend to."
"Tofu from China?" Isogai asked.
"Actually, I'm catching a ball game in the Big Apple." And at that, Koro-sensei flew away.
"He sure knows how to make an exit," Yoshida shielded his eyes.
Terasaka jeered away from the scene, "I know... that thing is starting to get on my nerves."
"Too bad, you can't kill it," Y/N teased as the other students spoke.
"Yeah? I'd like to see you try, She-He," Terasaka glared at Y/N.
"That's enough, Terasaka," Karasuma yelled once he noticed the situation.
Y/N tried their hardest not to cry or burst out of anger at the boy. They just directed their attention to Karasuma, who was at the door.
"Children," Karasuma cleared his throat. "Any progress on killing the tentacles menace?"
"Define progress," Nagisa said as the class made uncomfortable noises.
Hazama leaned back, "Yeah... This is E-class, bro. You got to lower your expectations."
"With all due respect, sir," Isogai started. "He's too quick."
Y/N lowered their head and furrowed their brow at their paper. They were still upset with Terasaka. His words triggered something that was meant to be kept hidden. And, Y/N's classmates were kind of dumb, and it bothered them.
"You said so yourself, he tops out at Mach 20. How do you kill something like that?" Another student said while slouched on his desk.
"I don't know, kids. You better figure it out." Karasuma responded.
"Seriously?" Okajima whined.
"Seriously. You're the only hope we got. He teaches willingly. Putting himself in the line of fire by choice." The class groaned. "If we let that creature live, come March the whole Earth will be annihilated. And, in case you need a reminder of how powerful he is, take a look at what's left of the moon. That will be our planet in a year. In short, he's too dangerous to take lightly. That's why this classroom is the last stand between mankind and extinction."
"Actually," An unexpected voice started from the back. "I have plans. I don't know if they will work, but I took a lot into account when making them."
The class turned to Y/N, who was holding up their "notes" for everyone to see.
"Well, let's hear it," Karasuma shrugged.
Y/N explained, the class slightly baffled. It's like a chess game, Nagisa thought, listening to the carefully made plans. Some were better than others, but they were all backed up and had good strategies.
"Some of those plans are worth a try," Karasuma sounded impressed with
Y/N. It wasn't every day a junior high kid can pull something like that off.
Y/N sighed, "Thank you. I need cooperation, though. It's the only thing missing."
A load of hands rose. Calls of: "I'll help" and "Pick me!" were made. Y/N smiled, telling everyone that they don't want to execute anything yet, and will have to wait. It was still nice to finally have some eager people in their life. Even though they were dumb.
Time skip~
Y/N got outside and sighed. They were coming back to the feeling of hate and depression caused by Terasaka's words. She-He, an insult Y/N knew all too well. They looked back on that familiar and dreadful page in their notebook, this time it was enough that tears flowed out of Y/N's eyes.
It was like Y/N could hear them again:
"What are you? A boy or a girl?" An ugly boy asked. He had a mean smile on his face.
Y/N shrugged at the question. They really didn't know the answer. Even when they were small, Y/N didn't feel like a girl or boy in that sense.
The boy smacked Y/N. Y/N just stood there with tears in their eyes, staring at the ground.
"It doesn't even matter to you..." Y/N's voice was small and cracking.
"But, it does," The boy and his three goons surrounded Y/N. It was kind of like Terasaka and his group. "A freak like you is everybody's business. Especially if you can't even choose a side."
End of flashback~
The rest was a blur for Y/N, but it was better that way.
A whooshing noise interrupted Y/N's crying as Koro-sensei landed. Y/N quickly wiped away their tears and closed their notebook.
"Good afternoon, Y/N," Koro-sensei had his usual smile on, a coconut tucked under his tentacle and Sugino's BB baseball in another.
"Good afternoon, Koro-sensei" Y/N smiled. "Need anything?"
Koro-sensei looked around, "Actually, yes. Do you know where Mr. Sugino is?"
"Yeah," Y/N gestured Koro-sensei to follow them as they walked around the school and on a pair of stairs.
Koro-sensei nodded and approached the poor pitcher. Y/N watched the scene from afar. They look away for a second, only to look back and see Koro-sensei man-handling Sugino. Y/N watched with wide eyes, very confused at what was happening.
"Please, sir," Nagisa ran out of the building. "Don't do this. He was just doing what he had to. The deal was that you didn't hurt any of us."
Y/N started to giggle at the silly Nagisa, walking back into class. The memories were still flowing back as they walked back into class.
They sat back down, dreading Terasaka.
After a moment, Y/N spoke, "My name is Y/N and I use they/them pronouns. I am nonbinary, not a freak, not a girl-boy, and especially not a She-He."
Their head was pointed down at their desk, their tone was serious. You could tell that Y/N was sad and very angry.
Terasaka started to laugh. Y/N cut him off with a pencil pointed to his throat, "I don't care about who you are, who you think you are, or your reasoning behind the things you do, but if you even think about bullying me or tormenting me, I will make your life a living hell. You have no idea what I went through these past years because of people like you. I will make sure that I never have to go through something like that again, no matter the cost." Y/N wiped the tears coming out of their eyes with a free hand. "But, don't worry. I won't kill you, I'll just make you wish that I did."
Nagisa shivered. Y/N reminded him of a certain red-haired sadist. Though Y/N seemed different from him, Nagisa couldn't figure out what it was.
