It was now a few hours later and Lexie was sitting in the hospital cafeteria eating alone because all her friends were in surgery. Her mind was racing at how they all just accepted that she was alive. None of them reacted the way she thought they would. Some of them would ask how she was alive but they didn't really care at the time because she was alive, they missed her. She sat all alone when Cristina walked in and sat next to her. Lexie greeted her with a soft smile.
"I have a question" Cristina said and Lexie responded with a small nod telling her to ask. "Did you continue with your residency wherever you were?" She asked. Of course that's what Cristina would ask.
"No, after the plane crash and being saved, I had no memory of ever being her or being a doctor. But over the years I started to remember some things." Lexie replied
"What a waste" Cristina said, disappointed.
Lexie looked at her confused, "what are you talking about"
"Well I mean, you were lexiepedia, photographic memory and you couldn't remember being a doctor? That bullshit, you can't just forget that" she told her.
"I died and came back to life, and where I was, there was nothing and no one to remind me"
"But you were Lexiepedia, you wore diapers in surgery, you could've been a great surgeon, hardcore" Cristina sounded disappointed.
"Yeah but like I said, I had a different life after. And it wasn't until I read an article, Neuro Surgeon Dies in Car Collision, that I actually remembered everything" she said with sadness in her voice. "Do you think Mer will be back?"
"I think that if she knew you were here, she'd be back right away"
"I wish I remembered her sooner, I miss her," Lexie sighed, "and Zola"
"Didn't you know that she had another baby, Derek Bailey Shepherd"
"Oh that's cute, I wish I could've met him"
"You will, Mer will come back soon enough"
"I hope so, I don't want to leave Kara for that long"
"Can she not take care of herself? Why are you so scared something might happen to her?" Cristina sounded a little annoyed at the mention of Kara, maybe because Lexie never mentioned her and now she's her everything.
"She's perfectly capable of taking care of herself, more than anyone I know. I just worry she'll..." she paused, not knowing what to say and not wanting to reveal Kara as supergirl, "take on more then she can handle" she came up with.
"What even is her job anyway?" Cristina asked
"Oh, well... she," Lexie tried to come up with something when Alex sat down next to them, "thank god" She whispered under her breath.
Back at the hotel, Kara was gathering her things. She was leaving the next day after lunch with her sister and maybe some of her friends. Kara really wanted to get to know some of the people Her sister used to be around all the time but national city needs their hero so hopefully, if their schedules allowed them to go to lunch, they'll want to go.
She finished packing up her things except for her clothes for the next day and laid down letting out a big sigh. She didn't want to leave her sister alone but she also didn't want to leave national city alone, and Alex can handle herself, but national city won't do so well without their hero. Kara pulled out her phone to message her sister but she didn't get a reply so instead, she rolled over and shut her eyes to take a nap. She was exhausted from traveling and everything else that was going on.
Alex sat across from Lexie and Cristina. Lexie greeted him with a soft smile, poking at her food. She was thinking about how she didn't want Kara to go back alone.
"You're interrupting our conversation with your presence" Cristina joked
"Can I not sit and eat with my friend" he said looking at Lexie, "and you" he rolled his eyes at Cristina.
"Can't we just eat in peace, you two are annoying" Lexie said "and speaking of eating, me and Kara are having lunch tomorrow before she leaves and want to get to know you guys a little before she does go" she continued.
Cristina rolled her eyes, "why does she want to know us?"
"Why do you hate her, you don't even know her" Lexie asked, "yeah you wouldn't like her, she smiles all the time and believes there's good in everyone but, she is a great person"
"That's exactly why, she's too happy all the time, makes me want to throw up." Cristina replied
"That's exactly what I thought you'd say" Lexie told her. She turned her head to Alex, "you'll be there right?"
"Oh sure" he said as he shoved more food in his mouth.
Lexie's phone buzzed with a message from Kara but she ignored it when she saw April and Jo coming towards their table. Although she didn't know who Jo was at the time.

I believe Lexie and Jo would've been the superior friendship if they had met so I'm going live out those dreams in this story🌱
