I woke up the next morning to a very loud Hannah screaming in my ear.
"Wake up Wake up Wake up!" she yelled. "It's your audition day!"
"I knowwww." I cried back.
"Why aren't you excited?? You audition starts in 3 hours." She questioned.
"Because I'm exhausted." I tell her as I roll back over, putting a pillow over my face.
"Did you stay up all night stalking Tom again?" she questioned. I turn around and hit her with my pillow as hard as I can, causing her to fall off of the bed.
"I wasn't stalking him, I'm just trying to learn more about him." I say, trying to defend myself.
"Sounds like stalking to meee." I roll my eyes and get up, looking out our huge window watching over the city. "This could be our home if you ace this auditionnnn." Hannah says as she creeps behind me.
"I know I know." I say as I push her off me and walk to the bathroom. I stand in the mirror for a few minutes just looking at myself. Am I really good enough for this part? I mean sure, I have some features that match up with Tom's, and I look close enough to be his sister. But he is just... so much better than what I'm looking at in the mirror. I shrug off my thoughts and hop in the shower, practicing my audition lines while I wash my hair. I always felt more confident in the shower, knowing that no body could possibly see me. Once I was done I got out and wrapped myself in a towel as I started doing my facial routine in the mirror, once again practicing my lines. I got dressed in some dark jeans with a white t-shirt and a beige felt coat. I felt a little better about the audition after watching myself act it out in the mirror. But I was still a little nervous that I wouldn't physically fit the role.
I walked out of the bathroom to see Hannah already completely ready for the day.
"Are you ready? Is that what you're wearing? You look like a real New Yorker!" Hannah rambled.
"Yes, yes, and thank you. Do you think converse will go with this outfit?" I ask Hannah. Although Hannah may be a child at heart, she sure is good at fashion.
"No way! Combat boots, 100%." she responded as she pulled a pair of black combat boots out of her bag and handed them to me.
"What would I do without you." I chuckled.
"You would show up at a huge movie audition in inappropriate footwear and completely embarrass yourself and not get your role." she said. I rolled my eyes at her as I grabbed the shoes and put them on. I stand up and look at Hannah to approve of my outfit. "They will not be able to turn you down." She says.
"I don't know about that." I say as I look down at my outfit.
"Why would you say that! Stop being mean to my best friend." she commanded. I give her a soft smile and walk into the bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror.
"You're right, I got this." I say into the mirror, trying to convince myself.
"Well let's go! Your audition starts in an hour." Hannah said, as she grabs her purse and phone. I walk out of the bathroom and grab my phone and stuff it in my wallet. We head out the door and down to the lobby where I am greeted by a familiar face.
"Hey! Rylee, Rylee Taylor right?" He says.
"Yea, yea. uhhhh?" I say, trying to remember his name.
"William, we met at the Central Park a week ago." He says.
"Right! I'm so sorry, I'm bad with names." I say.
"It's alright, where ya headed?" he asks.
"My audition actually." I say.
