I wake up the next morning to see Hannah already up and ready for the day. I look over at my alarm clock to see that it's 10:05, which causes me to quickly sit up.
"Hannah! Why didn't you wake me up??" I question.
"Cause you have 2 days left to rest, so you're not waking up early and sneaking to the gym." She replies, not looking up from her phone. I knew she was right, I shouldn't go. But I just need to finish losing this weight somehow. "Oh yea, your dad called a couple of times before you woke up." Hannah added. I reach over to my phone to see 4 missed calls. What could he possibly want? I got up and walked into the bathroom to call him back and he immediately answered the phone.
"Rylee, I'm so glad you finally called back, I figured you'd be up early in New York." he said.
"Well I usually am, but filming starts in 2 days so I'm supposed to get some rest and take it easy." I say.
"Well than you do that."
"I am... so why did you call?" I ask him.
"Oh yea... I called to tell you, I can't keep paying that hotel rent. It's past your stay and it's getting more expensive."
"So we have to find somewhere else to live..." I respond, a little worried.
"Yeah... I'm sorry Rylee but staying at a hotel for over months, it's just not going to workout." He says, sounding a little guilty.
"Hey, its ok. We'll figure it out. I can just go to my director and ask if they can help me out with living expenses for a little. That's one thing that is on the contract since I have to move states to film." I say, trying to reassure him.
"Alright sweetheart. Stay safe, and remember, we're all so proud of you."
"Thank you. And we are staying perfectly safe. Love you."
"Love you too." He says as I end the call. I didn't want to go to my directors about living expenses, but I knew I couldn't keep relying on my dads money.
I walk out of the bathroom to see Hannah still on her phone.
"Hannah, we need to talk."
"Hm?" she says, still paying attention to her phone.
"So uh... my dad says he can't keep paying for our hotel room. So we are going to have to find somewhere else." Finally she looks up from her phone.
"Like an apartment? I've always wanted an apartment in New York! I'll start looking now." She says, turning back to her phone.
"Hannah." I say, drawing her attention back to me. "We don't have enough money to rent one ourselves, and I can't keep asking my dad for money." I say.
"So what do we do?" she questions.
"We have to go to my directors, it's on my contract that if and actor or actress does not live in driving range of the movie and needs living expenses, they are to help me." I say.
"Alright so we pick an apartment and ask them to pay the rent." Hannah says.
"No, we go to them and they pick out the easiest option and place us there."
"What?! That's not fair!"
"It is when it's their money." I say, raising an eyebrow at Hannah.
"Fineeee. I guess they can pick the place we live in for the next year." Hannah complains.
"Great. I'm going to go to the set now, they should be there." I say as I throw on my shoes and grab my phone.
"Woah woah woah." Hannah says. "First off, you're not going anywhere without me. I have to make sure you don't go to the gym." I roll my eyes at her. "Second off, you're still in your pajamas." I look down and quickly realize she was right. Point 1 Hannah. I go through my dresser and grab some dark blue ripped jeans and a black t-shirt that ties in the front. I quickly get dressed and fix my hair as Hannah grabs her things to leave too. I haven't actually been to our set yet, just the studio. So this should be fun. I walked out of the bathroom and threw on some white converse and grabbed my stuff.
