Control Is Key

I woke up and dad was gone, I frowned and remembered how much I kept waking him up last night. Screaming and crying almost every hour. I felt pathetic, I looked over at my clock. It's 8:00!? Dad must've not wanted me going to school today. I shook my head, not staying home and relieving it all day is worse. I leapt out of bed and quickly dressed myself. I ran all the way to school my tentacle like hair probably whipping all kinds of people since I didn't have time to braid it. I reached the doors of 1-A at 8:20. Hunched over catching my breath I opened the door and took my seat. I could feel everyone staring at me.

I doubt my incident made any kind of news but they all probably wondered why I was late. I scratched my head. "Slept in a bit this morning," I gave a warm smile and chuckle. I took my seat and begun braiding my hair. Everyone was talking about the incident we went through. I mostly ignored it just focusing on my hair until Bakugo yelled. Causing me to jump, I rolled my eyes in frustration. Then Lida came barreling in telling us to quiet down and take our seats. Lida noticed we were already in our seats and went to his seat, sulking. I smirked a little finding it a bit funny. Tsu brought up that Aizawa probably wouldn't be in today. Thinking about him made me sad, but then the classroom door opened. "Mr. Aizawa, You're back way too soon!" Everyone shouted. I watched him limp to his post, all I could see was his face going into concrete. Maybe dad was right, maybe all this is a little too much for me to take in.

I closed my eyes and took a steady breath. No this is where I should be. "The U.A sports festival is drawing near," uncle announced. Everyone exploded with joy, I shared in their excitement. But it also gave me a knot in my stomach. Should I even participate with recent events? Then everyone started wondering if it was such a good idea since we just had the break in. Uncle reassured us that the security will be five times the amount it has been then previous years. That U.A wanted to prove its security to the public. Sounded risky to me, I don't relish the thought of facing those villains again. Uncle began explaining the U.A sports festival and all its glory. By the time he was finished with his speech I finally finished braiding my hair.

We then went on to discuss sidekick opportunities and internships that can come from the festival. I had no idea who I'd internship with. Right now, I wanna focus on how to prevent what happened last night. Maybe I could ask Vlad, the class 1-B teacher, for help. He has a blood type quirk after all. "Class dismissed," uncle said and brought me back to earth. I'll have plenty time to think about it later.

The bell for lunch rang out and everyone started discussing the festival. Everyone of course was excited and pumped. I didn't really feel like talking with anyone today, so I was just silently observing. "You, okay?" I jumped a little at the sudden voice I looked to my right. "Oh hi, Shoto," I smiled. "I'm okay just in my head a lot today," "it seems like more than that, You were late and looked almost sad sitting in class today," I flipped the conversation to him. "Sounds like you weren't paying attention in class today either," "you're dodging, it's alright if you don't want to talk about it. Just let me know if you're honestly okay," I was choked up, I wanted to cry but swallowed hard to keep my composure. As I went to speak, Ochako turned to us in the scariest face I've ever seen. "I'm gonna do my best," I looked at Shoto and he looked at me. We both rose our fists. "Yeah," we said in unison.

"But scarlet as I was saying," he turned back to me. I didn't wanna cry in front of him. I couldn't take any more of his questioning, so I just grabbed my bag and darted for the door. He ran after me, and I quickly went into the women's restroom. "Scarlet!" He said breathlessly behind the door. I went into one of the stalls and curled on top of the lid. "Alright....I'll just have to wait for you then. Did you bring lunch? I can go get you some. Do you have any preferences?" I just put my head down onto my knees. "Well, if you're not eating then I won't. I'll just sit at this door to make sure you're okay," I could hear him slide down the wall outside. I slowly opened the stall and grabbed my bag I had tossed on the ground. I excited the bathroom after cleaning my face up a bit.
