The Day Of The Provisional License

All of us in class 1-A were standing outside the building we'd be tested. I could feel the tension in the air, everyone was nervous. Mineta was the only one to voice how he felt. Uncle knelt down to his level. "Mineta, it's not about whether or not you can. Go and get it!" Those words of encouragement seemed to speak to the whole class. It helped me calm down at the very least. He gave us another inspirational pep talk, telling us if we get our license today. We'd be semi pros! That was crazy to me. To think I'd be considered a hero even a little bit. I wouldn't let him down! I balled my fists up on determination. I will get my license! Everyone else seemed pumped up too!

Another guy from a different school shouted and about gave me a heart attack. He was very enthusiastic to say the least. He very passionately apologized. "His head hit the floor," I said in a mixture of shock and awe. Mina and Shoto laughed at me. We soon realized that these students were from our rival school, Shiketsu High School. I liked their hats, kinda wish we had some sort of hats. The guy exclaimed that he wanted to say plus ultra for once since that was a U.A thing which he loves. I was very confused by him. He was so intense.

"He's bleeding," I said in my state of shock again. Mina laughed harder and Shoto waved his hand in front of my face to get me out of my dazed state. "I'm sorry! Ive never seen someone this intense before. It's crazy," they left us and uncle recognized the intense student. Saying he's strong, he got the top scores and was admitted through recommendations. I looked to Shoto, who I know also was admitted that way. So does that mean, his abilities are as strong as Shoto's? Uncle continued that he turned down the recommendation, just like I had when dad offered to do it for me. Now I'm throughly intimated by that guy. I'll definitely keep my distance if it's a fighting test for the license.

We all found it weird that if he loves U.A so much. Why didn't he come to our school? It was definitely strange. Suddenly a female voice called to uncle. I had to hold in a laugh when I saw who it was. It was Ms. Joke! I personally loved her, I've had the pleasure to meet her at least twice. When uncle trained with me, she found out and invited herself over. The banter between the two was a treat to say the least. Also her quirk was such a joy, she used it on me once when I was having a particular bad day. She was one of the people who taught me to find joy even in the worst times. Such a ray of sunshine!

She kept asking uncle to marry her, as she had done even back when I last saw her. I think they'd be a cute couple! She called over some students. Oh! She's a teacher now! I bet she's great at her job! The students were very happy to meet us. A boy tried grabbing my hand but I backed up before he could. "Sorry, I don't like being touched by strangers," I put my arms behind my back. He wasn't bothered and grabbed some of the others hands. He tried shaking Katsukis hand but he slapped his hand away. "Stop pretending. What you're saying doesn't match the look on your face!" The boys face did indeed change when he was called out. I seemed to be the only one who noticed the quick change. A girl ran up to Shoto asking for his autograph. He was unsure how to respond, I smiled to myself. My shy boy has resurfaced. Mineta told the girl she could have hers.

Uncle hurried us to get changed. "Yes sir!" We all shouted in unison. We all got dressed and were put into a giant room. All clustered and crowded together. Shoto kept me close, a hand on my waist the whole time. A super tired man talked into a mic. He introduced himself, Mera from the Hero's Public Safety Commission. Apparently his work place is short staffed so he hasn't been getting good sleep. Poor guy. He began explaining the provisional license. It would be a free for all between all 1,540 examinees here. This was due to Stain and his ideals that, hero's should not seek compensation. It should be all about self sacrifice. Whether we were doing this for compensation or not, we needed to prove that we could keep up with the times. Then he dropped a bombshell only 100 of us would pass today. I remember uncle saying at least half would be able to pass but now the odds are under 10% of us would.
