Chapter 3

I am screaming like a teenager. I am going on a date !!! I called my best friend of 30 years and she immediately drove over with some outfits and makeup. I quickly shower while she's on her way and as soon as she gets her, she runs through the front door and barges into the bathroom. Of course i was butt ass naked but it's Mica she never cares. I quickly wrap up in my towel and dry my hair off as i walk out the bath room i see 3 dresses pressed and ready laying on my bed. She told me to try them all on, thank God me and Mica are the same size. She is so fashionable and sexy me on the other hand... not so much, I wear spaghetti strap crop tanks and sweats or big hoodies and shorts. For work i wear my bath suit and a uniform on top. She throws me this small tight grey dress with a black belt and thigh high boots. I look at her, "Go change we don't have all day" Mica rolls her eyes while going through my jewelry box. "Isn't this a bit much for just coffee meeks"? She nods her head "my life style is a bit much, but i live to the fullest" i walk out the bathroom with the dress on. "You look hot Eye, don't get me wrong but this isn't the one". She handed me a beautiful coral halter dress, it's stands out but not too much she also handed me some black flats and dangling earrings. I look at myself in the bathroom mirror all strange, this is just all super weird for me. I haven't tried to look good for anyone in a long while. I have this light feeling in my stomach, the kind you get when you are going down from the top of a roller coaster. I walk out of the bathroom, "Your beautiful" Mica says while crying. "eye listen, all i want is for you to be happy". She leans into hug me " You deserve so much and this is so good for you, i'm proud of you". I hug her tight, then take a glance at the time "Shit shit shit it's almost 2 i have to go", "i'll lock up just hurry" Mica said while pushing me out of my room. I grab my phone and purse and head into the car. I start driving but on the way all i could think about was when me and Ezra went for coffee that one time. It was sunny and pretty. We sat on the balcony of the cafe and talked about what we wanted our futures to look like. I remember he wanted a boy and girl and a house on the lake, he wanted a little swing chair on the side of our beach lot so we can watch the sun rise up and down off the water. I shook my head to snap out of an old fantasy i was dreaming of. I finally arrived at the coffee shop. I force myself out of the car than I closed the door and took one last quick peek at myself at the side of my car door. "Ilene" i hear a deep masculine voice call out. I turn around to see a tall man with a defined jawline so sharp you could cut yourself, he had large veiny hands with a ring on his middle one. He had short dark brown hair and almond shaped eyes with a light brown eye colour, he gestured his hand at me in a friendly way with a cute smirk on his face. I say "Luca" and smile. He gestured out for my hand, so i gave it... he kissed the top of my hand i felt the warmth of his neck. We walked over and he pulled out a chair for me to sit on. I watch him pull out the chair for me, he stretches his arm and i can see his ripped body through his see through white t shirt.  He asked me what i wanted to drink , "caramel mocha sounds good" " on it" he grabbed his wallet and walked to wards the cash register. I sat in my seat and squealed in my head. I texted Monty

I am so proud ma! Dad says that his friend canceled on coming to wonder kingdom next weekend. He has two extra tickets and no one else can come. Are you sure you don't wanna take you and a friend?

I think to myself, this is a chance to show everyone that i am okay and happy with my life, maybe if this date goes well i'll ask Luca if he is interested in going with me

I see Luca walk over with two coffees and two bags, my mouth starts to water as i smell the coffee brewing from inside. He sits down and hands me my coffee and a bag, "I didn't know what kinda you like so i got you chocolate chip" he said giving a shy smile at me " I open the bag and pull out a chocolate chip cookie. "Thank you" i say "What do you do for a living"? he replies with "I am actually head chief of the police force". I mean it make sense why he is extremely ripped now. I take a quick glance up and down but before i finished taking my look i get asked "what do you do"? "I'm actually a marine biologist, i love the water in general but i'm closer to it this way".  He said "well then why don't we go for walk there sometime, maybe on our next date?". He lifts eye brow, i actually really like him he's kind sweet and he makes me laugh. i don't see why i wouldn't "Yeah of course"! i said excited for the next time we meet. "I know this is also i bit much but, next weekend i have two tickets to wonder kingdom. Did you want to go?" i followed the question "oh please not feel any pressure, i just assume you like rides". He has a huge smile on his face " Yeah i would love too ". My heart is full of happiness  i can't stop turning red in the face and i feel like just falling down. He continues to talk and i just feel so good could he really fix the hole in my heart Ezra created? After our date we went to the small ice cream store next door. We got a huge cup full of 4 flavours and we shared, it started to drizzle and the it rained harder. We got into the car and finished off our ice cream. He gets out the car and then swoops around and open the passenger seat car door for me, He stretches out his hand gesturing me to take it. I walk him over to his car, he leans into me is he going to kiss me? I'm not ready for that! what is he doing?! Suddenly i feel a smack on my cheek... he kissed my cheek ? I hugged him " Thank you i'll see you later this week"? "He nods his head then gets into his expensive white and black range rover, He waved as he is leaving the coffee time parking lot. I drive home with butterflies in my stomach, i feel perfect, everything is just going great. I get inside and change into my silk pyjamas, i lay down on my bed and start to doze off. I turn off the light and dream of our next date.
