George's POV
George tried his best to quickly, yet quietly, open the bathroom door. Being hit with a slight rush of cold air since the entire house was freezing except for all the bathrooms.

Dream was probably already asleep by now so maybe he could finally leave the room, leave the house.

Leave his problems, if anything to leave his life behind him.

He fell asleep for an hour or so while locking himself away, but, while he was awake he couldn't help but to think and get lost in thoughts.

He chose her, so why stay.
Why choose him when after everything he chose her.
They're not even soulmates.

What's the harm in leaving, he doesn't even need to know.
It's not like he'll actually care.

Walking past the bedroom, Dream lay there.

He looked at peace, like nothing could bother him.

Like nothing was ever wrong.

Just this time he wasn't asleep while waiting for George, he was asleep while waiting for Hailey.

If anything, he probably couldn't wait for George to move out.

So George headed towards the front door while also grabbing Dreams keys.

And checking his phone while sitting in the car.

Karl had messaged him about more good news.
It's not like he didn't want to hear his friend become overjoyed, but it was about soulmates.

How him, Sapnap, and Quackity are all soulmates.

At least they all love each other.

George was left loving someone who already moved on.

So he turned on the car and drove off.

No destination planned, at least it wasn't til hours later and when the sun rose.

Dream's POV
Tossing and turning throughout the night, he didn't manage to get solid sleep.

Yeah he never checked the bathroom once for George but he couldn't help but to think about him.

Singing him the song from start to finish for the first and last time.

The smile on his face when Dream sung past memories, trying to hold back tears since he knew he'd never hear the song again besides in his head.

Everything would be a simple memory, right?

Getting out of the bed and heading towards the bathroom, he expected to see it locked and sealed away from the house, from him.

But instead it was opened.

He wasn't in the kitchen, he wasn't in sight.

And neither were his keys.

"SAP."

"Dude what." Sapnap had that morning voice, yawning and the sound of his palm hitting his forehead.

"George is gone."

"He probably just went on a walk Dream."

"No Nick, he's actually gone. No keys, and my car is gone."

He expected Sapnap to be somewhat sympathetic or worried.

And he was worried but he wasn't surprised.

"Yesterday you flat out told him and everyone else that he basically meant nothing to you like he used too."

"Sa- "

"No Dream, you need to listen to me for once in your goddamn life. Hailey is this perfect girl, yes. But George was there for you in your literal worst moments, hell he experienced it with you. You BOTH lost someone, you BOTH lost someone who felt like family and yeah she was your sister, but George felt about her the same exact way.

When you didn't bother to leave your room or get out of your own bed, George still brought you meals, he still made sure you were healthy without even caring for himself.

You never once asked how he was doing because you blamed him, and you can't say you didn't.

He offered, forced, you into trying the ice cream but you were behind that wheel Clay, you were the one driving.

George blames himself, he didn't care for himself.

He didn't sleep for more than three hours if any, me and Bad couldn't even get him to eat a damn meal yet still hating himself he cared for you.

But y'know what Dream, I wouldn't blame him for leaving. I wouldn't blame him for a damn second."

Neither of them talked for over 5 minutes.

Both were shocked, but not surprised.

What would Dream expect to happen.

To choose his side despite treating George like shit.

He got rid of his memories because he couldn't handle me or her anymore.

It's all mine and Dristas fault.

It's all my fault she's gone.

It's all my fault he's gone.

"Sap, can- can you just try to get ahold of him."

"Yes Dream."

And Dream hit the call end button on his phone.

He didn't deserve George in the slightest.

And all he can keep asking himself is why he chose Hailey yesterday.

Why did he not say George.

He got his memories back, of everything and yet I still chose her.

why..
