Anyone's POV

"What the hell does he mean you said nothing Dream." Sapnap ended up parking the car so he could turn around to face Dream. "It's not like he asked you to marry him, he asked if you love hailey like you loved him."

"Him asking me that put me on the spot and yeah it is like asking someone to marry them when they're asking if they love someone enough to propose." Dream scolded Sapnap.

"Well what is it Dream, you're still going to be on the spot no matter what." Karl calmly joined in as he faced the two in the backseat.

"I- I don't know Karl."

"How the fuck do you not know Dream, just answer the damn question." Karl stayed quiet, it was now just between Sapnap and Dream.

"Because I don't Sap, I don't know- "

"DREAM."

"Sapnap."

"ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION. FOR FUCKS SAKE, JUST ANSWER FOR ALL OUR SAKES."

"ITS HALIEY OKAY. I LOVE HAILEY." Dream let out a long sigh. "I love Hailey."

George's eyes opened wide from the words that flew out of Dreams mouth, and no one was expecting it.

Karl turned back around and Sapnap switched from Parking to Drive.

Not a word was said..

They didn't know what to say, how to bring up something else, and they didn't get anything to eat like they thought.

The tension ruined the mood.

So they sat in silence.

Besides the soft hums from George's side of the car.

Humming of the intro to the song Dream wrote him.

Sapnap had dropped them off before he and Karl left, Karl forgetting to tell Quackity about how him and Sapnap are soulmates. He couldn't hold in the joy anymore.

Dream unlocked the door and each of them walked inside, George immediately heading towards the couch and sitting down.

"Dream.." He looked at the blond who stood at the doorway of his kitchen. "Did you mean what you said, back in the car?"

He only nodded.

"Could you sing the rest of that song to me?"

He nodded again. "Of course."

He headed upstairs to get his guitar and soon came down.

"You can start from the beginning, if you want."

Dream fixed the strings on his guitar and made sure they sounded right, starting the soft melody moments later.

"I met you in the dark, you lit me up
You made me feel as though I was enough
We danced the night away, we drank too much
I held your hair back when
You were throwing up"

He never looked up from his guitar and continued to play, but this time George knew why the lyrics sounded familiar.

"Then you smiled over your shoulder
For a minute, I was stone-cold sober
I pulled you closer to my chest
And you asked me to stay over
I said, I already told ya
I think that you should get some rest."

A part of George didn't believe he chose Hailey, but a part of him wouldn't blame Dream for finding someone new.

How could you look at someone the same, when you look at them and see memories of the past.

Memories of the day he lost his sister, lost himself, and lost George.

It was his idea to break up, but Dream didn't care since he was lost in grief.

He knows it wasn't George's fault but he can't help but to blame him and himself.

"I knew I loved you then
But you'd never know
'Cause I played it cool when I was scared of letting go
I know I needed you
But I never showed
But I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old
Just say you won't let go
Just say you won't let go"

George:
"Just say you won't let go," it's funny how he's the one letting go and here I am again the one trying to stay..

"I'll wake you up with some breakfast in bed
I'll bring you coffee with a kiss on your head
And I'll take the kids to school
Wave them goodbye
And I'll thank my lucky stars for that night

When you looked over your shoulder
For a minute, I forget that you're older
I wanna dance with you right now
Oh, and you look as beautiful as ever
And I swear that everyday you'll get better
You make me feel this way somehow"

Dream:
You love Hailey, you chose Hailey.
George broke up with YOU. You didn't break up with him. HE chose to forget you Dream.
Just keep singing, it's almost over.

It's almost over.

"I'm so in love with you
And I hope you know
Darling, your love is more than worth its weight in gold
We've come so far, my dear
Look how we've grown
And I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old
Just say you won't let go
Just say you won't let go"

Tears slightly formed in both of their eyes, neither let one fall.

George's eyes trying to stay shut and listen to what he's going to lose, maybe he'll write her a different song. This is the last time he'll probably here this melody.

"I wanna live with you
Even when we're ghosts
'Cause you were always there for me when I needed you most"

Dreams voice croaked with every last word, getting worse and worse.

"I'm gonna love you 'til
My lungs give out
I promise 'til death we part like in our vows
So I wrote this song for you, now everybody knows
That it's just you and me 'til we're grey and old
Just say you won't let go

Oh, just say you won't let go"

"Thank you, Dream.."

George headed up the stairs and into the bathroom.

Locked the door and the light on it's dimmest setting, he never opened it that night.

At least from what Dream could hear before he fell asleep in his room.

Besides the creaking from it opening, not another thing was heard.
