~~~~~~~~I look up to see Coach Bombay walk in. Really? Not the time.
Maybe Coach and Charlie has already made up?
"Is this seat taken?" Coach asks and i shake my head. Coach sits next to Charlie as he sighs. "Hey Coach!" I say and Coach says 'Hey Y/N' back. "Charlie I need to talk to you" Coach says sadly. "What is it Coach?" Charlie asks and i listen in closely. "Look, Charlie, I'm not going to be coaching the Ducks anymore, Jesse and Terrys dad are taking over" Coach says and i feel my eyes widen. "Your quitting?!" Charlie yells, causing everyone in the cafe to look at us. "Im stepping aside Charlie, to keep the team together" Coach mutters.
"They cant play for someone they don't trust" Coach says bitterly. "I trust you! And I'm sure the other guys do to, they just don't understand!" Charlie stammered with tears in his eyes. I felt bad. "You just got to talk to 'em, you gotta make them understand..." Charlie mutters sorrowfully. "Charlie, I've done all i can" Bombay neglects. "No you haven't! You cant just walk out on the Ducks like that!" Charlie exclaims as a single tear drop trickling down his cheek. "Were your team!" Charlie yells and Coach replies with-"no your not!".
"We are to! We weren't even the Ducks until you came along, you made us and now your stuck with us!" Charlie shrieks as he shoves his homework aside and sprints out. Coach looks down as i yell "CHARLIE!" While running after him.
I run after him and grab him arm. "Charlie wait up!" I say as he slows down. "What?!" He yells as he pushes me off him with tears streaming down his face. He wipes his face, getting rid of the remaining tears. "Its okay to cry Charlie, you don't need to act strong all of the time" i say softly. He sits down on a bench with his head in his palms. I sit down next to him, trying to ignore the awkward silence.
"Thank you" i hear Charlie mumble. "For what?" I ask. "Helping me with homework and being her for me" he says quietly. "Its okay!" I say with a soft smile. I see a few more tears roll down his cheeks. I hear him sobbing quietly into his hands. "Hey, I'm sure Coach will come back, i know that without the team he has nothing, don't worry about it Charlie" i say, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Really...?" He asks while tilting his head towards me and i nod. "Okay...i hope so..." He says.
The next day
-It was time for another game, and yet again i made up the excuse i was going out to play with my friends. Really, i was going to play for the Ducks. Again.
I make my way into the changing rooms. Karp, peter, Jesse and Terry all still had their casual clothes on as they sad down with a stern face.
"Okay team lets do this" Coach Bombay says. This must be his last game coaching us. I sigh as i quickly get into my gear. "Hey Con, whats wrong with them?" I say pointing to the arrogant boys who refuse to play for Bombay. "Probably just Coach" she says rolling her eyes. "Oh..." i mutter quietly.
"I heard you talking to Coach Riley, you said we were all worthless nobodies who didn't deserve to live" Peter says to Coach as he pushes past him. "What...? I didn't mean it like that...Peter...Son get back her when I'm talking to you!" Coach yells. Coach...Riley?! Oh no...What if he sees me and tells Adam!
The whole team look at Coach dumbfounded and most of them walk out. "Fine! If you still want to play, ill be on the bench, if not...well" Coach says while walking to the bench.
The only people that were left was Me, Fulton and Charlie. We ended up having to Forfeit that game.
