The pounding of my heart echoes.
It must have been the way you stood there
that got my legs shaking.
All you did was turn and smile.

Your hair swayed with the sunflowers.
Come hither, you said.
You didn't have to tell me twice.

Sun rays hit your eyes,
it wasn't long until I saw my world in them.
The warmth of the sun
reminds me of your hands.
Will you hold mine?
You read my mind.

We walk through the field.
You belonged there, amongst the sunflowers.
You smell like them too.

Must you look radiant under the sunlight?

My heart threatened to burst but I stay quiet.
You're already this close.
That was enough.
Then you said,
"You're my sunflower."

That's when I figured,
I knew so little yet so much.
