This is gonna be a hectic day, I can feel it already.
~~~~This chapter is in Adriens POV~~~~
I tell Plagg we're meeting up with Nino and he heads into my pocket per usual. Grabbing my things, I step out of my car and head to the front of the school near the stairs where we always meet. I get there first and wait silently for the couple to come when I hear a loud "Hey dude!" to the left of me.
"Hey guys!" I yell back, waving.
Nino jobs up to me and Alya quickly catches up. "How have you be-" he starts.
"What happened last night? Did you end up staying? Did you guys do the dare?" Alya interjects.
I feel my stomach drop. "W-well.." I trail off, not knowing what I should say in case Marinette is embarassed. "Let's just leave it at the dare was done but you'll have to ask her for more details. I ended up accidently hitting her stitches so not much really happened."
"She actually did it?!" Alya yelled at the same time Nino yelled "Well is she okay?!" They steal a hard glance at each other making all of us to laugh.
"You're right, Nino. Is she okay?" Alya asked in a sarcastic but caring tone knowing I would've told her already if something was actually wrong with Marinette.
"Yeah, she cried until she fell asleep though. It was really hard to watch to be honest. Thankfully it didn't take too long before we both fell asleep after that. But she woke up and freaked out that I was there and her dad busted into her room." I said sheepishly.
"Woah, man! Did you get caught?" Nino asked.
"Do you think he'd be alive to tell the tale if he did, babe?" Alya said.
"Good point." He lightly slapped my shoulder with a laugh, "Adrien, you are one unlucky dude."
"You could say that again." I let out a breathy laugh. He has no idea I think then glance at my ring thinking of Plagg.
"Well keep your bad luck outta here, Agreste. We're planning something big for Marinette and we can't afford to have it go down in flames." Alya said, chuckling.
"Oh? What's the plan?" I asked, genuinely curious since nothing was ever brought up to me.
"When she's able to come back to school on Friday, Madame Bustier is letting us have a welcome back party for Marinette. The last 3 hours of the school day will be for playing games and hanging out that way Marinette doesn't need to catch up and so much classwork. Her mom said that she'll come in late that day so we have to set up the party right before lunch, she'll eat with us and then be super surprised when we go back to class."
"Alya, this is amazing. She's gonna be so surprised and happy."
"Duh, dude. We can't wait. It's gonna be sick." Nino wraps an arm around my neck and holds a piece of paper at me. "Wanna help us get some decorations?"
"Yeah, no problem. Do you guys want to go shopping for them after school today? I'm free for once." I say, excited about hanging out with my friends.
"That works actually. Nino and I were gonna go shopping then go see Marinette. Want to come with us?"
"That sounds good. That reminds me, I need to place a flower order for her." I say, the last part quietly, more in my own thoughts.
"Flowers? What kind of flowers?" Nino asks, punching my arm softly. "Ever the romantic, am I right?"
"Shut up," laughing, I hit him back. "I wanted to get her some get well flowers."
"Didn't you already get her some from the hospital?" Alya questions.
"I did but those were hospital flowers and those were also because I made her kind of... Mad at me? I don't really know. I just know she deserves some better flowers."
"If you insist, Adrien. We're not going to stop you. Do you have some flowers in mind?"
"I know she likes pink so whatever pink ones work."
"You should look into peonies then. They come in pink and she thinks those are really pretty so she'd love that."
"Thanks, Alya. I owe you big time."
"I'll keep that in mind, Agreste." She says with a smirk. "Now let's head in before we're late for class."
The three of us walked in through the large front doors of the school. Nearly instantly, or should I say what felt like instantly, we were back out at the end of the school day. We walked down the front steps again towards my car. I try not to trip over anything as I shove mine and Marinettes homework into my bag.
Walking up to my car, Nino and Alya seemed surprised. I open up the hatch to the trunk and put our backpacks in while the couple tries to figure out the seating arrangement since there is no back seat. They slide across the fake, worn down leather seats and squish themselves in as I make my way into the driver's seat.
"Dude?"
"Yeah?"
"Uh, no offense but like, I thought you'd have a better car than this." Nino says uncomfortably but making clear it's kind of a joke too.
I laugh at him and smack my hand on the dashboard, "What? You don't like Madame Genevieve?" I lay my head against the steering wheel and in a mocking baby talk voice I jokingly whisper "I think you're amazing, Genevieve. Keep being you, girl." The three of us burst out laughing at the sight.
"No, no. Don't get me wrong, I love Genevieve. I was just thinking that you'd, I don't know, like, have a Bugatti or something?" Nino says, wiping a joyful tear away.
"Yeah, respectfully, Genevieve is kind of," Alya whispers, "a clunker."
I gasp dramatically and hug my steering wheel. "Don't listen to them, Gen!" This makes the inside of the car fill with laughter again. After regaining our composers I actually answer their questions while pulling out of the school parking lot and heading to the stores we need to go.
"First off, I don't have a Bugatti. I have a Porsche Taycan. My father got me that when I got my license and I usually drive that car but paparazzi always follow me when I go out in it because they learned that car so I bought this one. My sweet green, 39 year old Matra Murena. It's an old car but it's rare if you know your cars. Thankfully, paparazzi haven't figured out I have two cars. They think that because I have money that I need to have expensive things like cars but that's what let's me slip through the cracks."
"Wow, it seems like you really thought this through. But what happens when we go into the store? Won't people notice it's you?" Nino questions.
"Well," I pull my car into a far away parking space when we arrive at 1000 Fêtes. "I just do this," I grab large black sunglasses, a hair tie, and a hat from the floor. I flip my head down and gather all my hair into a messy bun/ pony tail hybrid and flop the hat on then wear my sunglasses. "Ta da! It's like I'm not even here. Totally normal 18 year old."
"I guess if you're blind." Alya snorted at me.
"Thankfully paparazzi tend to be, especially when a famous person is hanging out with normal people. We basically blend in. Just watch, I bet no one will recognize me."
"You're on!" The couple say unexpectedly in unison.
