Previously: There's no way he could've done that at such an awkward angle. The bars aren't even spaced far enough to be a pull up. I can't even imagine how he did that.
"No way, show me." I asked, clearly catching him off guard.
"Uhhh, alright." He said nervously, probably worried about failing. "Here I go."
~~~~This chapter is in Adrien's POV~~~~
"Uhhh, alright." I say nervously, not sure if I can lift myself up the bars. I absolutely have to be able to do this, I can't explain my way out of this one if I can't. "Here I go."
Walking up to the bars I silently pray to the universe that I can still do a pull up. I know I work out constantly to keep up the model physique but I've never been a fan of doing pull ups and try to avoid them. Hopefully I'll be able to pull this off.
I place my hands on the second rungs up, squat a little then leap up, pulling my bodies weight up with me. I swing my legs a bit to help me gain a little momentum to reach to the next bar. I continue this until I pull my body up to get my feet onto the last bar.
"Wow, I didn't think you'd be able to do that." Marinette stares up in awe.
I dramatically scoff, "You didn't think I'd be fit enough to pull myself up there? How could you?" I drape my hand over my head while hanging on to the ladder with the other.
"Oh shut up, it just looks really hard to do that, okay?" She laughs, still looking amazed that I was able to do that.
"Well that's because it is!" I yell down, quickly sliding down the rest of the ladder, catching the final bar and jumping to the ground. "I mean, I even did that in the rain!"
"You're right, you're right. I'm sorry for doubting you." Her cute giggles cut through the sound of the storm so beautifully.
"It's okay, but I think I should get going soon. I don't want to be even more late."
"Oh my god I completely forgot about that again! Okay, come on!" She grabs my hand and we run around the building to the front entrance. We stop for a second to ring out as much water as we can from our clothes before continuing on. Pushing through the doors, her parents gasp.
"M-Marinette?" Her mom asks, "Adrien? Why are you guys all wet? Weren't you upstairs?"
"Long story, mom! We just wanted to play in the rain and I didn't wanna get my bed wet when we came in." She answers, walking through the bakery and pulling me along.
"Did you come down the fire escape? That was incredibly dangerous in the rain! And what about your stitches?" Her father asks, getting more upset.
"I know, I know. But I'm okay! My stitches are fine and we're all good!" Marinette calls back to them as we head up the stairs. "I'm sorry, love you guys!" She yells before entering her house upstairs and closing the front door.
We climb up to her room and she b lines it through to her bathroom to grab towels for us. Alya and Nino peek their heads over the edge of the bed with smirks.
"Oh look who decided to stop making out and get home before their dad hunts him down." Alya says sarcastically as I grin at her and roll my eyes.
"Sooooo, what'd you guys doooo?" Nino asks, dramatically kicking his feet like a school girl at a sleepover.
I can tell I immediately start blushing from their reactions but before I can say anything Marinette briskly walks out of the bathroom, pushing a towel into my chest as she scowls at our friends.
"None of your business!" We towel off as much as we can in awkward silence from the whole room.
"Tonight was fun guys, we should hangout again soon. I gotta go though, I'll see you guys at school tomorrow?" I look over at Marinette who looks a little sad. "Well, most of you at least. I'll come visit you too, okay?"
