Don't Look

Previously: "What, cat got your tongue, Chaton?"

"Marinette, you're still um, naked.."

This has to be a dream, right?

I can feel my face glow like a hot iron. I feel paralyzed and anxious. I was so distracted with hiding the box and making sure Chat was okay I forgot to grab my clothes. I take a sharp breath in, hold it while I close my eyes and pinch my side as hard as I could handle. When I open my eyes, I'll be in bed. Right? Like, I have to be dreaming. There's no way that this is real right now. I am not sitting with Chat Noir's head in my lap when I'm in my bra and underwear. I'm asleep and having an embarrassing nightmare. I slowly open my eyes and look down. God, no. Chats color matches mine and I shriek. I cover his eyes at the same time he covers my mouth. I hear rustling downstairs and start to panic.

"Marinette, are you okay? We heard some loud noises and wanted to make sure you're okay." Mother calls.

"UHH, yeah mom! I'm fine! I-I just knocked a few things over while I was working on that project I told you about, nothing to worry about!" Hopefully that's a good enough excuse to make sure she doesn't come up here.

"Okay, sweetie!" she calls back. I hear her stay at the stairs for a moment then walk away to go back to the bakery. There was a large order today so I must have been obnoxiously loud for her to stop and come up here.

I breathe a sigh of relief. I know the relief is only temporary though because Chat is still in my lap.

"Okay, Chat. I'm gonna need you t-to get out of my lap now."

"How am I supposed to do that with your hand across my face, Purincess?" This makes me pull my hand away immediately. He looks at me and smirks with a pink hue under his mask.

"Stop looking at my boobs and get up!" I whisper yell. He seems taken aback and gets up right away.

"I-I'm sorry, M-Marinette. I didn't mean to offend you." I've never heard this side of Chat like this. He's always flirting with Ladybug and myself but he's never been so shy and apologetic about it. It reminds me of someone-

My thoughts are cut out by Chat abruptly standing and turning around. I take this as a signal to finish getting dressed. I slip a cami on and then my pink sweatpants. I can feel the tension in the room. It's thick enough to cut. I feel awkward being so exposed to Chat but I would rather it be him of all boys, even Adrien. The thought of Adrien made me tingle. I've loved him for so long but it's been years, and I was unsuccessfully trying to move on. Maybe I could try Chat? I glanced back over my shoulder at the boy in leather. But I mean, he's in love with Ladybug? That can't work can it? What am I even saying? I can't risk it! He could figure out I'm Ladybug AND the guardian. That's way too risky. Buuuuut, a little fun couldn't hurt, can it? I quietly inch towards the black cat from behind and grab his tail. He jumps in surprise and I laugh so hard at him I might break a rib.

"What was that for!?" I keep laughing until he turns around and I see the bruise on his face.

"Oh my God, Chat! Your face!"

"I know I'm handsome, Purincess, you don't have to remind me."

"Shut up, I'm talking about your chin! Look!" I walk over to my desk and grab a mirror, handing it to him. He sucks in a deep breath.

"Well, it could be worse. Do you know anyway to cover it?"

I get out my makeup kit and go to work. I start mixing colors to match his skin tone which is pretty hard when I have such a pale complexion. Good thing I'm a designer and know color theory. I slowly go to work painting different colors over the bruise and covering it with concealers and foundations. As I paint on his chin, I can't help but gaze at his lips. I never noticed how perfect his lips and jaw were. I feel myself drifting closer and closer to his face. I look up into his eyes to see him already staring back longingly. I stop putting on his makeup and we just sit there, a few inches apart, looking into each others eyes. I also didn't notice how nice his eyes were. They're the perfect bright, chartreuse green. Chat moves in gradually and starts to close his eyes and I do the same.

I feel the warmth of his soft lips meet mine and my body melts into his touch. His gloved hands cradle my face while my hands search through his golden locks. We kiss gently at first but soon we give into whatever this feeling was. Was it lust? Or worse; love? No, it can't be love. I love Adrien. Or do I? Can you love two people?  I realized that I had feelings for Chat a few days ago after Kagami and Adrien had become closer. I shouldn't be making out with my partner but I can't help it.

Chat pulls me closer to him and lays down, pulling me on top of him. We've been kissing for what feels like forever and I block everything else out. All I can think about is that I'm in my room kissing Chat Noir and where this could lead to. I grab the bell around his collar and instinctively start to slide it down. I feel his hands grip my waist and caress upwards, lifting the bottom of my shirt.

The beep from his Miraculous brings us both back down to Earth. We stare at each other, breathing heavily.

"I-I gotta go," he sighs, "I really wanna stay but, m-my Miraculous is running out of time and I'll transform."

"I understand, Chat. Get home safe and watch your chin. Oh! Wait, let me give you my makeup so you can cover up your bruise." I stand up and reach over to my desk again and grab the makeup supplies. "Use this yellow stuff to neutralize the blue in the bruise, then some concealer and finally foundation. Just gently pat it on and blend it out with the right color. It should be a seamless transition or it will be noticeable. Bring it back whenever the bruise goes away and you have time to."

"Thanks, Mari, you're a real lifesaver. Next time though, wait until I pass out and give me CPR so we have a reason to keep kissing." With that, he winks and leaps out the window leaving me speechless.

I lay spread out across my floor when Tikki floats above my face with a mix of confusion, shock and disapproval on her little face. I roll over and bury my face in a pillow.

"Please don't look at me like that, Tikki! I know I messed up." I roll back over and look across the floor to avoid her stare. Before she can even speak, I gasp and get up. I crawl across the floor praying that I'm seeing things. I make my way over to where Chat was standing when I changed and saw the small, orange blob. It was a Miraculous- more specifically the fox one. A Miraculous that he had seen before and would certainly recognize if he saw it.

I must not have grabbed this one when I knocked over the box. Did he see it?
