Madalyne's POV
"So as I was saying..... please go out with me, just for one time!" Jason pouts, begging me. I am in great trouble now. I glance at Xavier only to see him gripping his book tightly. And Jason just won't lower his voice.
"Jason, I promise, some other day but I can't today, I just travelled this morning," I try to reason with him.
"Then let me come to your dorm, I promise we can have a good time together," Jason takes my hand in his, making me stiffen. I try to pull my hand back from his grasp but he is holding it tight.
"No-Jason, I can't. I hav-," Jason cuts me off, not letting go off my hand. Not only Xavier but the guys also hold pissed expressions.
"Madalyne, please, this one tim-,"
A punch makes its way to Jason's nose when Xavier launches at him. The whole library gasps and freezes, looking at the scene. Xavier hovers over Jason, who now lies on the ground with Xavier gripping his collar.
"HOW FUCKING DARE YOU TOUCH HER!!!!" Xavier yells at Jason's face who now has a bloody nose.
"When a lady says no, it means no. End of conversation" Xavier grits his teeth when he meets with another punch on his eye; which is now swollen in dark red.
"Xavier, stop it!" I scream and rush to the boys who stand there not doing anything. They know there is no point in stopping him; Xavier is stronger than all of them.
"He deserves it!" Joseph utters under his breath.
"Stay away from her," Xavier warns in a dangerous voice and stands up adjusting himself then looks over to me. I shake my head at him. Why does he care? Why is he jealous? I thought we had nothing between us.
With a long glare at Jason, Xavier turns to head towards the exit. Everyone in his way immediately clears the path for me. No one utters any word or moves a muscle. That leaves everyone to stare at me.
"What the fuck- arghh," A groan comes from beside me. Jason whines as he stands up.
"Jason, I am so sorry-,"
"I- no you don't have to apologize. I didn't know you have a boyfriend," Jason chuckles and I hold up my water bottle to him. Boyfriend?
"Oh no, he is not my b-,"
"Yah and you better be careful from her boyfriend," Joseph glares at Jason as they leave.
"Yah......," I feel so bad for him now.
"Jason....,"
"No, it's ok, I was being a dick and I deserved it," Jason sighs as he turns to leave.
Everyone is still staring at me; even the librarians. Are they going to report this to the principal? Probably not.
"What are you all looking at?" I frown at them, causing everyone to go back whatever the fuck they were doing. I cannot believe what just happened.
"I have never seen Xavier being so protective over a girl," I hear a whisper among the crowd. I need to get out of here.
"I know, right? He scared the hell out of me," Another low whispers. Not being able to stay here anymore, I leave the library and head towards the female washroom.
'I wonder where the girls are. Oh they must be busy with their "lovers" I guess.'
"Well, well, well. Look who it is," A girl with blonde curly hair appears in the washroom. She is wearing a short skirt and small crop top with a red fluffy jacket over. Ehh? Who wears a small skirt in university?
"Hi, seems like everyone knows," I say sarcastically and roll my eyes. She comes and stands beside me and takes out her red lipstick and applies it, looking at the mirror.
"Yah. After all, what Xavier did, you are the talk of the day," She turns to me, "Because of him."
"Good to know," I put on a fake smile.
"You know, all of these are never going to last. Eventually, Xavier will get bored of you and leave onto the next girl," She smirks, curling her already curled hair. There is always this one bitch........
"And?" I hold a bored expression as I adjust my hair. Her smirk fades away as she rolls her eyes.
"Which means whatever you are doing to get attention, is not going to last," Her bitchy British accented voice makes me want to punch her like Xavier did to Jason.
"Well, I don't care or.....," I turn to her, "Let's enjoy it while it lasts, don't you think?"
"Look, don't fly so high up in the sky yet. I bet you can't even pleasure him like I did," She crosses her arms, smirking. I don't have time for this.
"Right, 'did'.... Past tense. Now let's think about the present, shall we?" I roll my eyes and laugh. That was a good one. She looks furiously pissed.
"The only reason he punched that guy is because he couldn't stand the wrong happening to a woman," she hissed at me, "He would have done that for any woman."
"Isn't that a good thing? Why are you telling me?" I ask her, "Just admit it you are jealous." I will be a bitch to a bitch then.
"Hahaha, jealous? You will be the jealous one when he comes back to me when he gets bored of you!" Why the fuck is she laughing? Never mind, I'll laugh too.
"Hahaha, right. And how long will that last?" I raise my eyebrow at her, "Eventually, Xavier will get bored of you and leave onto the next girl," I repeat her own words.
"You-," She fumes as she looks like she is about to cry.
"And grow up; we are not in high school anymore, who the hell wears these short clothes in University?" I point to her attire, "No offence but I can basically see the outline of your bra and the straps. Plus it is cold outside," She holds an embarrassed look as she adjusts her top, covering her bra's straps.
"Don't be embarrassed, we are still in the washroom so fix your clothes before the whole world sees,"
"Thank you," I can barely hear her whisper to me. I leave the washroom without saying anything else. Whatever.
