Xavier's POV

"All? Wha- Who beat you that night?" Madalyne asks as we both look at Jason, waiting for his answer.

"You should know this, Xavier," Jason snarls at me.

"Jason, for fuck sake, we don't have all day!" Madalyne, who looks as confused as I am, says in a daring tone. Honestly, if I wasn't eager to know his answer, I would have punched the soul out of him and that time I wouldn't have denied.

"Xavier's gang beat me up like animals that night!"

His words which I hope are not true strike me like a lightning bolt. He must be foolish to think that I would be foolish to believe his words. Never in my life have I ever wanted to kill this man, for real. Gritting my teeth, I raise my fist to strike on his left jaw.

"Argh!" Jason stumbles backward as I raise my fist to punch again when Madalyne stops me.

"Xavier! Stop it! We cannot react without listening to the whole. You promised!" Madalyne yells out of frustration. Shit! I can't have her panicking right now because of me.

"Fuck! Hendry, don't act like you didn't know this. That four men; they do your dirty work-," Jason scoffs as if he knows everything about us.

"Jason, shut up, you don't know them-," As Madalyne begins to defend the boys, Jason cuts her off with a psychotic chuckle.

"So don't you, Madalyne," If Madalyne wasn't holding me back, I would have wiped that sinister look from his face, right now.

"And you think we will believe a lying degrading low-life!" I spit.

"Now I am not the one with lies here, to be honest," Jason shakes his head as his eyes flicker to Madalyne who starts to gulp. I scrutinize her eyes which hold a confused demeanor at the same time a glow of fear shines across her eyes. After a nervous stare, Madalyne steps forwards towards Jason.

"Why would they do this to you?" Madalyne clears her throat. I am just lost between whether to believe this bastard or beat the fuck out of him until his last breathe. Madalyne is right. I cannot react without knowing the whole truth.

"I am looking for the answer to the question too," Jason rolls his eyes with a bruised jaw.

"Madalyne, we don't fucking have time for this, let's go," I try to grab Madalyne when she scoots away and raises her palm to stop me.

"And you think Xavier is behind all this?" Madalyne asks Jason.

"Why won't he be? After all, everything works here under the flicker of his fingers! Four months ago, you may not know the full story behind the fight but we do, Madalyne. The reason why no one stopped the fight is because his friends were involved in it too. At first, they tried to stop him but Xavier strictly instructed them to join right in-,"

"Shut your fucking mouth! What happened four months ago has nothing to do with this ti-," Madalyne cuts me off.

"So what he is saying is true?" Madalyne crosses her arms.

"Yes but- fuck! Madalyne, don't tell me you believe him!" My jaw clenches at the thought of Madalyne not trusting me. I can almost practically feel invisible smoke coming out of my ear.

"Xavier, I never said I don't believe you but I am not sure if I believe your friends now," Madalyne huffs.

"They are like my brothers and they would never do this. I trust them with my life! Jason is lying!" I am basically shouting right now as we stand in the middle of the open field.

"Quit the fucking act, will you Hendry? I know you ordered your "friends" to do this to me," Jason air quotes the word, "So your real face doesn't reveal to your girlfriend. Even though I am new, I basically know what type of person you are from the gossips ar-,"

"SHUT UP OR this time I will injure  your other jaw," Madalyne yells at first then whispers the last part in a dangerously warning tone which shocks both Jason and I. It feels good to have at least someone to stand up for me when it's not really my fault.

However, Madalyne's gesture seems strange to me. That's not the Madalyne I have met.

Claps echo throughout the whole field as Jason lets out a low laugh. I swear to fucking god, something is wrong with this psychotic looking man. This low-life man breaks into fits of laughter as we both frown. I sense something terribly wrong coming.

"Look at you two love birds. Now I know why Madalyne keeps defending you; you two, including your friends, are very much involved in this, especially Xavier Hendry himself. You two are soul mates, look at you!" Jason fakes his gasp then continues. Madalyne and I just stand here, staring at his dramatic performance.

"Don't hide anything from each other, wow! But is that really true?"

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Madalyne asks Jason.

"Madalyne, why don't you tell him what's going on between Jonathan and you," My eyes flicker to Madalyne as soon as he says that, "And you Xavier, tell her what kind of other business you run beside your car company. Oh! And don't forget about the fights," Madalyne turns to look at me. And we just stare at each other with guilt, anger and other emotions passing in our eyes.

"If you don't believe me about his friends then why don't you ask them yourself, bye," I can see the triumph in the evil's eyes. As if dropping one bomb wasn't enough.

"What happened to not hiding things anymore?" Madalyne asks as she bites the inside of her cheeks.

"Yah, what happened to that?" Madalyne flickers her eyes elsewhere as I say that. I glare at her as my brain almost bursts with so many questions, "We can talk about it later."

Not waiting any more second, I stomp through the doors of the building as I stride to find the boys, hoping what Jason said isn't true.
