Chapter 5

"I was worried about you... besides, we're friends, aren't we?" Yaoyorozu's gentle smile grew bigger.

Todoroki's heart pounded at that comment.

Friends. Friends. It just repeated in his head over and over, like his mind was taunting him.

"Yeah." The hybrid said, letting a smile tug at the edges of his lips, but not letting it show.

Momo slipped her hand out of his, letting her other hand rest on his back. "Well, I'm just glad that you're okay." The brunette smiled at the hybrid.

Todoroki turned away from her and sighed. "Yeah. Friends."

Momo felt something was off with him. It seemed he had been acting cold and distant from her for some time, but now it just seemed different. She wasn't really sure what the hell had happened to the Todoroki she knew, but she didn't necessarily like it.

Yaoyorozu held the tracker in her hands. "Before the activity started, I planted a tracker on Hagakure's gloves. Unless she takes them off, then we should be able to locate her just fine." She quickly said, looking at the green dot move on the tracker. "It looks like they're hiding down that hall."

Todoroki looked in the direction that she was pointing. His foot hit the ground with a loud bang as it down, creating a path of ice, freezing the hallway and encasing the room with ice. "They should be trapped now. It should be fairly simple to defeat them."

Momo ran up to the room, not running so fast that she could slip. "Do you have a plan to defeat them?"The brunette asked nervously, biting her lip.

Sure, she had a plan, but it wasn't solid... and plus... it wouldn't work anyways.

"I froze the ceiling. We could go on top and crush the ceiling onto them. However, it won't hurt them. So in the time when we are going up, make a small object that you can fight with. When the roof crumbles in, they'll be distracted with finding something to protect themselves instead of fighting us." Todoroki explained, pointing to a ladder near that lead to the second floor. "Then we attack, with the tracker you put on Hagakure, we can locate her as long as she still has her gloves on, and with the roof crumbling, she won't remember to take them off. Tokoyami will use his Black Beast, so you will use a strong light force that you create to dissolve his beast into submission."

Yaoyorozu was in awe. "Todoroki, you made a plan that quick? It took me a long time to just figure out how to defend the make-shift nuclear bomb during the first semester." The brunette quietly mumbled to herself. "I could never come up with such a good plan."

The hybrid ignored her comment and grabbed her arm in a hurry, pulling her towards the ladder. Momo blushed slightly and hid her face from him. Todoroki looked at her with slight confusion, wondering to himself why she was hiding her face from him.

Todoroki quickly brushed the weird feeling off and placed a steady hand on the ladder. He placed his feet on the steps and started to climb up.

The brunette quickly followed behind the hybrid, climbing behind him.

They both reached the top quickly. Shoto clutched onto her forearm and pulled her up harshly. Yaoyorozu, surprised, fell onto the ground on all fours and looked up. "Thank you." She said, gently placing her foot on the floor and standing up.

"We have to go. I don't know how long my ice will last and Tokoyami might have gnawed their way out of the room." Todoroki broke out into a sprint, Momo following, her hair flowing behind her.

"Yaoyorozu, create a hammer and a flashlight to smash the roof down and to take down Tokoyami's beast." Todoroki shouted, turning his head to the side, looking at Momo dead in the eyes.

The brunette shyly nodded and created a flashlight that would emit a strong light and a hammer that was light enough to hold but heavy enough to smash down the roof.

Todoroki skidded his feet, stopping where the ice began. The ice was slowly melting, creating water. "Hurry. The ice is starting to melt." He yelled, extending his hand back and nudging his head to the side, motioning towards the ice.

The brunette jumped up and held the hammer in her hand, shaking just slightly and brought it down hard on ice.

The floor started to shake, crumbling down into the room below. Yaoyorozu was standing on unsteady ground. "GET BACK!" Todoroki yelled. The hybrid sprung to his feet and grabbed onto the brunette's waist, tackling her to the side.

Momo groaned at her back hitting the ground. She heard the terrifying screams of Hagakure. But she was too distracted by something else.

Todoroki was on top of her.
