Momo walked towards the cherry blossom tree. "Oh, a picnic." She said, walking up. The picnic was right under the cherry blossom tree. The scenery was lovely as the cherry blossom tree was set on a small hill.
She wore a pair of jeans and a simple white blouse over. This was the most casual thing in her closet, considering that most of her 'casual' clothes were expensive turtlenecks and dressy pants with long fancy skirts.
The brunette sat down on the checkered red and white blanket and noticed a little piece of ripped paper under the basket. She gently lifted it up. "I'll be a little late, helping Kaminari with math." Momo read out loud.
Doesn't that seem strange? He could just tell me when he gets here. Huh... whatever, it's fine. Momo crumpled up the little piece of paper and threw it into the basket, looking up at the cherry blossom tree.
It was 5 minutes until Todoroki actually came, running from the dorms. "Sorry, Kaminari needed help with his homework." He said as Momo turned her head to him.
There was a smile plastered on her face. "Don't worry." She replied. Todoroki sat down next to her with a little smile tugging at his mouth.
They sat in awkward silence for a little bit. Momo jumped up and immediately grabbed the picnic basket. "Oh, uh, do you want to eat?" She asked, opening the top and reaching inside.
"Sure." Todoroki responded plainly, watching as she brought out numerous food items. He reached out to grab the sandwich and began unraveling the wrapper around it.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" The brunette asked, pulling out the last sandwich and putting the basket next to her. She unraveled half the wrapper and took a bite out of her sandwich, not making eye contact with the male on her side.
On the other hand, Todoroki was looking at her in the face with an estranged look. He took another bite of his sandwich before saying, "Kaminari told me that you wanted to meet me here."
This time it was Momo's turn to look confused. She turned her head to him. "What do you mean? Jirou told me that you wanted to talk to me." She said, tipping her head to the side. "Unless..."
"They tricked us." Todoroki said with a mouthful of sandwich, making his voice just slightly muffled. The brunette covered her mouth with her hand, stifling he laughs. He tipped his head to the side in confusion. "What're you laughing at?"
Momo stifled another laugh. "I-I'm sorry, its just that when- pfft- you're talking with a mouthful it's ju- hah!" She burst out laughing, not able to even finish her sentence. The hybrid quirked an eyebrow at her. Momo started back into a laughing fit.
"Are you okay?" Todoroki asked, swallowing the last pieces of his sandwich and putting a hand on the laughing girl's shoulder. That only made her laugh harder. "Yaoyorozu. Seriously, should I call Recovery Girl?"
After a few minutes of laughing and Todoroki consoling her, she stopped laughing. Even though it seemed to not be a big deal. Momo wiped a tear from her eye and smiled. "Are you crying? I made you cry? Are you okay?" Todoroki bombarded her with questions to make sure that she was okay.
Momo took a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm fine, Todoroki." She said. "So, how about we just talk, normally? You know, since there's all this food and it's really nice out."
Todoroki nodded. "Sure... what do you want to talk about?" He asked, grabbing a small bag of chips off the blanket, tearing open the packaging.
"Mmm... what's your favorite food?" The brunette asked, tapping a finger on her chin.
"Soba."
"Oh! Really?"
"Yeah. I like the cold kind, though."
"That's a bit strange, Todoroki."
"Mmhmm."
"Oh, no no! I didn't mean it as a bad thing!"
"Yeah. Okay."
"Todoroki!"
"Hmm?"
"I didn't mean to insult you!"
"I know."
"But your tone of voice!"
"This is how I normally talk. What's your favorite food?"
"Oh! Uh... I would say probably sushi."
"I've tried that before."
"Really? We should go to a sushi place then! I think you'll like it."
Todoroki swallowed down the chips. "You mean... together?" Momo nodded at his question. "Okay. I'd like to try that sometime."
"Great! We can go this weekend for lunch. I need to get some things at the mall, so if you want to stick around then you can, although I'm probably just going to be buying clothes." The brunette said, pulling her phone out of her pocket and opening her calendar. "Does Sunday work?"
"I think so." Todoroki said, crossing his legs on the blanket. It was going to be his first time hanging out with someone alone. He didn't really understand that it could be misinterpreted as a date, so he was completely in the dark about what their classmates would think of it.
"Okay! We can just meet in the common room on Sunday afternoon." Momo said, putting her phone away and folding her hands in her lap. "If that's okay with you."
"Yeah, that sounds good. I also need to get something from the mall, so I can go shopping with you." The hybrid said, crinkling the bag of chips and putting the empty bag in the basket.
"Alright! Although we should probably clean up before curfew." Momo said, glancing at the sidewalk. Students were scurrying into the dorms and the sun was just about to set. "We don't want to get in trouble by Aizawa."
Todoroki nodded, agreeing with her and stood up, brushing off his pants. "Okay." They quickly cleaned up with Momo occasionally making small talk with him. The male tucked blanket under his arm while the female held the basket in her hands in front of her.
"So, what do you have to buy?" The brunette asked as they walked down the hill.
The hybrid put up two fingers. "I need some more clothes. And I need to get a present for my mom. Her birthday is next week." Todoroki said, putting down his fingers as he listed the items he needed to get.
"Oh, really? Well, you should see her, shouldn't you?" Momo proposed, leaning forward and looking at his face. "It is her birthday and all."
"Maybe. I still haven't talked to her in a while."
"Well still. You should see your mother, at least on her birthday."
"Possibly. I have to think about it."
"You should. Trust me. She's going to be thrilled to see you."
