Chapter 9

Ty's POV

I followed Skyler back into the cave. I was so excited. I saw the look on Sky's face as I walked back in. It was a look of pure pain, hatred, anger, and lost.

He fell to the ground and I felt my heart skip a beat. I saw him grasp at his chest and tears streamed down his pink cheeks. I held my breath as I felt my heart skip another beat. Why was I feeling so sad for him all of a sudden?

"Uncle Ty?" Skyler said, catching my attention. I had to force myself to look at her. She saw my face of distress and frowned. "Is something wrong?" She asked. I was reluctant to speak my mind, but I had to tell her.

My mouth opened slightly. "I... I think you need to..... Go back..... To Sky......."

Skyler's POV

I couldn't believe my ears. Did he just tell me to go home?

"But..... Why?" I asked.

He was hesitant before answering. "I....I..... I know how it feels..... To have nobody..... I don't want Sky to feel the same pain as I do. Go home. Tell Sky that I give up. This war is over." He said before pushing past me and into the cave. I just stood there. I was confused and hurt. Since when had a simple attack like earlier ever made Uncle Ty so weak? I shook my head and turned to the entrance of the cave. My feet were more reluctant to move than I was. I forced myself to do as told as leave.

When I excited the cave, I could see Dad slowly stumbling away. I quickly caught up to him. He jumped when I spoke.

"Skyler?!?" He quizzed. I nodded.

"Dad, I..." For some odd reason, I began to feel as if I were younger. "I'm... I'm" years started rushing from my eyes. "I'm so sorry, daddy!" I cried as I fell to the ground. I covered my eyes and cried.

Sky's POV

I ran over to my fallen daughter. She had transformed back into human form. I hugged her tight and close. She cried into my shoulder. "I'm sorry Skyler..." I said.

"I'm sorry for everything. I'm sorry for blaming Ty, I'm sorry for putting you through all this madness from such a young age. I'm so so so sorry..." I apologized. And everything I said, I completely meant. I hugged her tighter and her crying seemed to ease a bit.

"I'm coming back home..." I heard her mumble. I pulled away to look at her again. She smiled through her tears and I could tell that she was telling the truth.

I smiled back at her.

"What about Ty?" I asked.

"He.... He said that he's given up... That he doesn't want you to know what it feels like to have nobody..." She said.

As those words left my daughter's mouth, I realized just how selfish I've been towards Ty. This war was literally because I let my big mouth run longer than it should have. I hugged her again and kissed her forehead.

"C'mon then... Let's head on home." I said. She sniffed before waking with me.

Ty's POV

I can't do this... I can't....

My whole life... Is over...

I give up... Sky wins...

He can keep Skyler....

He can keep his thrown...

He can keep his lies....

But he will. Not. Keep. Me.
