Enderlox: The Trilogy (Part 3)

Chapter 13

I feel like I've been putting too much of the spotlight on Skyler, so I'm dedicating the next few chapters to Ty (Enderlox)

Ty's POV

I awoke again with a numb feeling in my arm. It was as if my arm had been cut off, and stitched up by a professional. I looked over at my arm with a weak head and droopy eyes.

My arm was in a tight, yet comfortable cast. The cast was white and covered in a single handwriting. It looked familiar, but I couldn't read it very well. My vision was still a bit blurred.

"Oh, you're awake!" A soft voice said. I leaned my head to face the voice. It turned out to be a female nurse. She wore the usual golden colored dress, with a black cross on it. Sky's nurses, make or female, wore these colors. Doctors usually wore a vintage gold hoodie with the black cross emblem on the shoulder.

The nurse walked over to me.

"It's great to see you interacting with the world again." The nurse said. I nodded. I knew that my voice was probably coarse and hard to understand, so I didn't talk.

"Let's check on your bandages, shall we?" She said. She placed the clipboard she was holding down on the table next to my bed, then walked over to me.

She lightly placed a hand on my chest. I flinched in slight pain.

"Oh... I'm sorry. Your still in so much pain. Your ribs might not have got healed. It was foolish of me to think that o could change your bandages so early. I'm sorry."

She looks away sadly and scribbled something on the clipboard.

"You do know that I an half ender dragon, right? I heal twice as fast as humans do. I should be better within a few hours of consciousness. Just let me rest, and I will be out of your hair very soon." I explained to the nurse in my dry voice.

"O...ok. My name is Nurse Salem by the way, but you can just call me Salem if Nurse Salem is too formal. Here, let me get you a glass of water."

I watched as Salem poured me a glass of cold water. "You must be parched after being unconscious for 4 days." She handed me the glass and sat next to my bed. I sat up and drank the glass in one gulp.

"Please, don't strain yourself too much. Your injuries are quite fatal." She said. I sat the glass on the small table next to my bed and sat up straight.

"I told you, I heal twice as fast as humans do. I'm already feeling better. In about another hour or less, I should be able to walk without a  problem." I explained again.

"Oh, right. I'm sorry." She apologized.

I hadn't realized it, but I scowled at her. "Why are you so apologetic? You didn't do anything wrong, you had simply forgotten the bit of information I had given you before. That's nothing to be sorry over." I lectured. She looked away sadly.

"I... I'm sorry... I've angered you. It's my job to keep my patients happy. Please forgive me?" She said.

My grown deepened, but soon disappeared.

"Fine, but don't apologize I've stupid things like that. You've gotta be stronger than that, especially during times like these." I advised. I crossed my arms and closed my eyes.

"I am strong! Don't ever think of me as weak because I apologize a lot." She warned. I opened one eye to her.

"Do you not fear me, Salem? I could turn on you and feast on your innards any moment now. I may be half human, but my dragon side still craves viscera."

"But... You didn't turn on me. If you wanted to kill me, you wouldn't be holding a conversation with me. So, no I am not afraid of you."

I shook my head and closed my eyes again.

"Just let me rest. I will call for you when I'm ready to leave." I demanded.

"Ok." She confirmed. Not long after she said that, I felt a soft pair of lips caressing my own. My eyes shot open immediately. The silver-haired nurse Salem... Kissed me?

"Ah, what the hell." I thought as my eyes closed again and I kissed her back. About thirty seconds later, we stopped kissing, and with a smile she left the room.

I sighed before closing my eyes and finally resting.
