Hi.
I'm Jade, I'm a Chespin, I'm in eighth grade, and I have no friends.
Well, okay, that's not ENTIRELY true. I have ONE friend. And she's the reason I know what friends even are.

"Of course I get the stupid C." That's me talking, in case you were wondering. I used to be... not the brightest student... but that's changed now. I met Lin - my only friend - in fourth grade. And it happens in five seconds.
"Ow! What the- Oh, it's you," I said, as I bumped into my future only friend. "Wha? Me?" she asked. I was getting a little annoyed - I have a pretty short fuse - so I, uh, yelled at her. "Yes, of course you! There's no one else in the hallway!" I exclaimed. "Wow, you're in a good mood." she commented.
"Why do you care about how I act?"
Okay, me saying that may or may not be one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made.
"What do you-"
"You're not me. You don't know how I feel, and you can't CHANGE how I feel. So tell me, why do you care how I act?" I interrupted.
"..."
"That's what I thought."
"Because no one deserves..." I couldn't hear the rest, she was mumbling.
"What?"
"No one deserves to be alone!"
Silence. I'll admit that at this point, I thought that I was just... meant to be alone. Like nobody was going to accept me except for my family.
"You don't know me then."
Yeah, okay, you can say it. I'm a jerk. I know that. Just wait a couple more lines of dialogue.
"...I don't need to. We should be friends!" said Lin, trying to get me to say something that wasn't self-deprecating.
"...What's a... friend?" I said. I was... kind of an idiot when it came to forming any sort of relationship with another person. And just so you're aware, my relation with Lin is PLATONIC. None of you "shippers".
"What?" asked Lin. "I've never been friends with anyone before. I don't know what it means..." I replied.
Pause.
Then Lin said, "Then I'll have to show you."

And that's the story of how I got my only friend. And, as I mentioned earlier, we have a PURELY PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP. Lin will deny that, but that's because she doesn't know what the word "platonic" means, and if you told her, then she'd stop denying it. And besides, it's not like I'm going to end up with anybody any... way...
Okay, distraction. What's that? ...That might have been offensive, let me reword. What Pokemon is that? I've never seen it before. So, I'm going to ask Lin. She knows this stuff, even though she knows pretty much nothing else.
"Hey Lin?" I ask Lin. "What kind of Pokemon is that?" I say, pointing at the mystery mon. They had light blue fur with black areas and a black mask area around their eyes. They had some things dangling near their ears that I can only assume are feelers of some kind, and a white circular patch of fur on their hands.
"It's called Riolu. The Emanation Pokemon." said Lin.
And then they walked towards me.
And said two words.
"You're sad."
