LIN POV
...Okay, I give up.
In my defense, nobody said we were having a pop quiz today.
...
Wait, that's the whole point of pop quizzes.
I hate pop quizzes.
In the past two days, two new students came here. At least, two new students that I've noticed. One I've met, a Riolu named Lucy. The other, an Oshawott, and he looks familiar. I don't know.
And then, suddenly "Hand in your quizzes, class!"
Uh-oh. I may have spaced out a little too much and just answered the first question. Probably incorrectly. Time for random guessing!
And after 30 seconds of that, I turned the quiz in. I'm sure I didn't get the lowest score, because Wesley is asleep and hasn't answered anything or turned his in. Plus, I'm sure I get one point for trying. I think.
And then the bell rung to dismiss us to lunch period. My favorite time of day, because it's a part of school where I get to have an excuse not to do school for an hour.
JADE POV
The whole point of lunch period is to have alone time.
This is why it's the only period where Lin decided to not sit next to me, thankfully. I don't know why, but I need alone time so I'll take it.
...
And there's food too, but I'm not going through the line. Too cramped, and I have claustrophobia. I bring my own food from home. Then you can go outside, but it's on a hill, and I have acrophobia as well. I also need to make sure I eat at a clean table - surprisingly hard to find in a middle school - because of germophobia.
I'm pretty much afraid of everything.
Well, okay, not EVERYTHING, because then I wouldn't still be alive, obviously.
Lin says my fears are "irrational". They are not. They are completely justified fears and I'm sure that many mon around the world have them. I just have them to an extent to which they are seriously affecting my life.
Okay, maybe I'm not saying this right. I'm saying, fear of tight spaces is reasonable because you could run out of air. Fear of heights is reasonable because you can fall. Fear of germs is, once again, reasonable because you could get sick.
Now for Lin's argument: Being afraid means you can't do stuff.
That's it.
I mean, in her defense, she's right. But what would you choose: Try something new and put yourself at risk, or never try anything new and have no chance of risk?
See, I'm right.
...
Right?
JACOB POV
I met Lin three years ago.
I was eleven. I didn't even know what falling in love was.
But it still happened to me.
When I later learned, I knew that I was in love that once.
But Lin...
I don't think she ever learned what it was like.
And I still am in love with her.
And I still want to find her.
And...
Hold on, is that... her? With some Chespin?
...
Whatever. I'll still go talk to her.
This totally won't be a bad idea.

Hiya! I'm the author, Flip!
I didn't expect this to have even 1 read, but it has 4.
So uh, thanks I guess?
One read for each chapter. By the time chapter 5 is out, there will be 5 reads.
I will be mad if this doesn't continue this way.
Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled story!
