Renjun didn't go to school until the following week, when all traces of pain and tiredness had finally leaved his body. In all of these days, no other soulmate dream occurred, only making him more anxious about what might go down once she saw him at school. He had tried calling her, but she always declined the call.
Going to school, Xinghua and Ryoko walked by his side. Xinghua was with him as emotional support while also explaining everything to Ryoko since the beginning, and creating a plan over how to get them to talk again.
"If you're worrying about who you'll hang out with, Renjun, I got you covered," Ryoko started, placing her small hand on his shoulder to get his attention. "I talked it with my brother and he told me he'd message a friend of his. Xinghua knows these people too, she just doesn't talk to them as often."
"That's nice of him, tell him I said thank you," the boy replied with a smile.
Ryoko nodded before continuing. "This friend of his has his own little friend group and they're all native Chinese speakers, so your Korean skills are gonna be less of a burden."
"Ryoko, there you are!" A taller man shouted from afar, having all three of them follow his figure as he approached them. "I was beginning to think you wouldn't come." He had this laid-back and easygoing aura around him.
"You don't need to wait for me, you know? I'm not a toddler," Ryoko replied, giving him a stare. "I was walking with Xinghua and her cousin, Renjun."
"Ah, so you're the boy Ryoko mentioned." He eyed Renjun. Not in a judging way, instead it seemed like he was trying to memorize his appearance. Renjun nodded in response. "I'm Yuta," he finished with a remarkably comforting smile.
"Thank you for helping him," Xinghua voiced. "None of us think it's a good idea for him to try to hang out with the boys until everything is cleared. I know Jihyun doesn't purposely want them to hate him but she sounded hysterically furious and you know how the boys can get."
Yuta nodded, giving a giggle as he spoke. "It's nothing. I know how hard it can be to fit in when you're a foreigner. Luckily, I got Sicheng to help. He's over there on the benches," he said, turning and pointing towards the area. "He may look skinny, but believe me when I tell you he won't let anyone harm you. And don't get me started on Lucas."
"Yuta, hurry up. You promised you would let me copy your work," another boy called from a nearby table. The boy looked young and lively, it was hard to believe he was a college student with his child-like cute aura and innocent-sounding voice. All four of them bid their farewells before each took a different path.

"You told her she had ruined your life? No wonder she's that mad," Yangyang silently laughed, following Renjun's saddened gaze at Jihyun and the boys in the distance. "You can't just tell that to your soulmate and expect it to go fine."
"Yangyang, don't say that!" Kun quickly voiced, giving the younger a smack in the arm. "We're here to help him, not scold him."
"To help him, we need to make him realize what he did wrong." Ten was surprisingly on Yangyang's side. "How can you fix a broken plate without knowing what parts got broken?"
The others didn't say much to help. Xiaojun and Hendery were bickering over homework in cantonese, so Renjun couldn't quite catch what was being said. Sicheng was playing games, and Lucas sat next to Renjun as he gave him a comforting pat on the back. "I'm sure Xinghua and Ryoko will settle things down, there's no need to worry," he pronounced, noticing how the younger still stared at the girl with achingly regretful eyes.
