Chapter 23: My Story

(A few thousand years ago)

Zane's POV

There was nothing in my life that I don't have, everything is absolutely perfect. I'm happy with what I have, amazing proud parents, my brother, the perfect girlfriend.

What else could I possibly need?

I just had headed home from my daily routine at the gym. I was on my way but instead of using my flying motorcycle, I chose to walk.
Something about today that feels special in a way.

As soon as I made it to my house I noticed that my dog ran out the door towards me.

Oh shit here we go..

He pounced at me and tackled me to the floor and began to lick the shit out of my face. Since he was a special kind of breed, he had the strength of 10 men. Also my parents fixed him up, so he's able to talk. He's like my brother.

"Cody no stop -ahh!", I laughed as I tried to push him away, but shit he's too strong.

He then pulled away and began to laugh, he knew I didn't like affection especially outside where everyone can see.

"Sorry you idiot, you know I can't help it.", he laughed as I picked myself up from the ground.

"So how was training?", he asked, walking towards the house alongside me.

"Well honestly I couldn't even concentrate today, I've been thinking about the thing.", I glanced at him and stopped walking.

He stopped his pace and looked at me too.

"Ohh, the thing. Are you going for it??"

"I am and I know I'm ready, I really do love her Cody. Emiko has made my world a million times better, she's the love of my life.", I said as I thought back to how we first met, hundreds of years ago.

"Yes but marriage? That's a little too much, a little too soon.", he nodded his head.

I knew how he felt about the situation. Emiko and I have been dating for about 300 years. I'm in love with her.

Cody on the other hand, was jealous I'll be living somewhere else with someone else. I wasn't replacing him though, he'll come with.

We entered the house where I find my parents in the kitchen, probably making lunch. I had been living with my parents since my house burned up in flames from a expirement I was working on. Thank God that that was years ago and now I'm great at technology. Total genius.

"You're home early.", my mother said.

My mother was a very kind person and not only that, my hero, both my parents were.
They had fought and survived from a great war in our planet before a the peace treaty we have now.

Thounsands of soldiers fought that day and only 12 soldiers survived.

"Zane look at you, you're a complete mess, go shower!", my mother said.

"I'm going, I'm going", I rolled my eyes.

She doesn't know this but she was right, I needed to get ready. Freshen up.

I'm going to propose to Emiko tonight.

They'll be so proud.

(Hours later)

"Where are you taking us son? Your mother and I were supposed to go to the movies. What the hell is this for??"

We were all walking up a small hill where I had prepared everything. The place was not that bad, lights in the trees and Emiko was there too. She thinks it's just a special dinner with my parents. As soon as we finished eating, it was time.
