Mackenzie's eyes snapped open, and looked towards the creaking door. Loki was walking in with breakfast.

"Darling, you're awake..."

She sat up and looked around the room, she was in the lab.

"W-Where's C-"

"Hush now my pet, everything is alright."

"No, where's Carrington?"

Loki sat the breakfast down in Mackenzie's lap, taking a seat right next to the bed. He looked out at the others, watching them, ignoring Mackenzie's question.

"Loki, answer my question." Mackenzie demanded.

"She's not here." Loki sighed.

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"She's recovering, like you are. Now please, eat."

Mackenzie looked down at her food. Toast, eggs and a bowl of yogurt. She obeyed and ate her food, small bites at a time. Worrying about her friend was an understatement. She was afraid. She didn't know what was going on, where she was or anything.

"How long have I been out?"

"Couple of days," Loki said clearing his throat.

"Loki, I understand you're the God of Mischief, but I can see through your tricks."

"Two weeks, the baby is perfectly healthy. Br- Your father has been checking up on you and the baby."

"Loki, please, I need to see her."

"I cannot allow that."

"Loki, I'm not asking you, I'm demanding you to take me to her."

"You midgardians are so impatient," he mumbled.

"Excuse me?"

"I am not letting you see her, I am sorry my queen."

"Why not?" Mackenzie yelled.

"She's got you this far, and has nearly killed you and our unborn child." Loki yelled back.

Mackenzie leaned back in the bed and glared at Loki.

"I'm sorry, did you just raise your voice at me?"

"You're not listening to me darling."

"I am, and I want you to leave my room."

With a sigh, Loki stood up and took Mackenzie by the hand. He was going to take her to see her bestfriend. Whether she liked what she was going to see or not, he knew that's all his queen wanted. They walked right up to the door. Mackenzie took a deep breath and walked in. In that room, laid her bestfriend, motionless. Mackenzie rushed to her best friend's side and grabbed her hand.

"My dear, what have they done to you?" Mackenzie's eyes started to water.

"Nothing, I'm quite alright." Loki laughed.

"Now is not the time for your games, Loki." Mackenzie barked at her king.

Looking around the room, Mackenzie's eyes took sight of the two chairs that were already occupied in the room, by none other than the super soldiers.

"Shouldn't you be in bed?" Steve asked.

"I needed to see her," Mackenzie sighed.

"She's doing alright, gave us quite a scare last night."

"What do you mean by that, Rogers?"

"She slipped away in her sleep. If Bucky wasn't in here, we wouldn't have noticed until she was far too gone."
