Haunted by memories
Stalked by insecurities
Dancing in the rain only hides my tears.
Sitting in the dark strengthens my fears.
Silence wraps itself around my skull
The stillness abates depression's pull.
I put on my smile and face the world.
They can't know that my world's unfurled.
The only way I can survive this dream,
Is to pretend my thoughts are not obscene.
For as long as I hide my pain,
A sense of security I will gain.
