Faith:

I woke up cuddling into Alec. My body started a pleasant little tingle that grew as I lay there. Ever since I had figured out that Alpha’s had two separate mates that they could choose from I was absolutely elated! Alec had even accepted being my mate and simply was bi instead of gay. He softly kissed my temple and pulled back slightly with a smile.

“Good morning my little Angel.” He murmured, voice slightly husky from sleep.

Damn If it wasn't sexy! I smiled back.

“Morning Alec.” I cooed.

He rolled on me but kept his weight off of me. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Come on, not just yet.”

Alec gave a slight roll of his eyes and started a trail of light kisses down my neck. I instantly felt a heat start from there and work through my core. I bit down hard on my lip.

I heard a light growl, telling me that his wolf wanted control so I pushed him back a little. Alec let out a sigh and pulled away fully.

“I’m sorry Angel. He’s just going a bit crazy.”

The door opened and Dominic came in.

“Alec, Faith I need you to do a patrol run. Alpha Sage has warned of rogues in the area.” He said.

With us both being alphas we butted heads a few times but when the pack was in danger of rogues I made an exception to following some orders. Alec and I climbed out of bed and immediately went to the back yard. We shifted in sync and took off.

I would have you two split up but you are mates… And Alec would probably rip my head off if you got hurt. Dominic linked in an amused tone.

I heard Alec let out a mini growl, adding emphasis.

I’d love to see that! Chad and Dameon chimed in sync.

I laughed. Alec and I scanned the woods closest to the house then went from there. As soon as I heard a low growl come from my other side I pulled to a stop. Alec skidded then rolled into a tree. I sniffed the air then growled as a scent I didn’t recognize came. A larger wolf had tackled me to the ground. I heard Alec let out a furious growl and the wolf was knocked off of me. I pulled myself up just before another had come down on Alec’s back. My eyes widened and my instincts took over. I was not going to allow my mate to get hurt. I knocked the wolf off his back and there we were, fighting back to back.

By the end we were separated which worried me more. My cheek and side were bleeding pretty badly from the rogue catching me off guard. That was when my mind flashed back to my mother in the field. I lost it, pinning the wolf to the ground and latched onto its throat. With a swift pull I heard a gurgled growl then felt the struggling stop. I released then turned with a growl as a wolf came from the bushes. The smell and low whine told me it was only Alec. I looked him over, seeing that he had a gash on both cheeks and a deep bite to his shoulder. He let out a low growl and pulled me under him.

Alec, calm. Dominic ordered as he now stood in front of us.

He only growled louder. I was shocked. With Dominic being an alpha and Alec a beta he should’ve done as he said.

A little help here Faith? Dominic asked.

I might have been in pain but I had to help Alec calm down. I shifted and weakly stepped out from beneath him.

“Alec, Calm down for me okay?” I murmur, running my fingers through his fur.

He rested his large head against my shoulder and immediately relaxed. I couldn’t help the smile that came along.

“Now shift for me.” I whisper into his ear.

I instantly felt Alec shift then wrap his arms around me.

“This is your fault Dominic.” He growled.

I frowned then looked up at Alec.

“Don’t blame him Alec. He didn’t know.” I said.

Dominic shifted and sighed.

“No, no need to defend me Faith. I knew the risks but I still let you go.”

I only nodded as I started to feel weak. I looked down at my side and remembered that I was still bleeding. That’s when I actually felt it. The cut on my side felt worse than when I first got it.

“Hey what ha- Dominic she needs to get to Allison." Dameon said as he came through the woods.

Alec and I were unwillingly dragged to the pack’s hospital. I was the unlucky one of course. I had an I.V. stuck in my vein for a transfusion and my side wasn’t going to heal properly unless I had gotten stitches. I was miserable! I couldn’t shift, doctor’s orders. I had to admit that I was pretty jealous of Alec who could walk away stitch free and could shift and run around. It wasn’t fair! Dominic and the boys came into the room with worried faces. The last time they saw me I was wobbling and bleeding out. Now I was just sore. Alec came to my side and looked over me with a frown.

“I should’ve been protecting you.” He groaned as he slumped in the chair beside the bed. I shook my head.

“Alec just stop okay? I’m fine.” I muttered, resting my hand on the side of his neck.

He rested his head on the bed and whimpered.

“You’re not okay Faith. You’re in here and you’re attached to that.” He motioned to the I.V.

“Alec, don’t blame yourself for this, if I hadn’t jumped in then you might have been in this bed or worse.” I protest.

He gave me a look.

“Faith it’s my job to keep you happy and protect you no matter what the cost. You’re my mate and if I died protecting you I’d die a happy man.” He argued.

My wolf had smothered me with her pride. She loved her mate oh so much and I was determined no to let anyone stand in the way.

"Alec, it's time to go. Faith needs her rest." Dominic ordered as he stepped in the door.

He just gave a growl. I never really understood how he could resist that.

I looked over at Dominic and sighed. "

You know he won't leave me here alone." I pointed out.

He must have given up since he turned on his heel and left the room. I just sat there and played with Alec's hair. Sure it was peaceful but i couldn't help but catch something. What I didn't know.

Alec broke the silence as he cleared his throat.

"Faith... I think it's time I tell you something. I know you're wondering what's going on between Dominic and me." He hesitated....
