Sans quickly dropped me on the ground. "Why here ? Why NOW ?" He asked.
"SANS THE SKELETON, COME HERE YOU SON OF A BITCH !!!"
The voice was getting closer.
"I'm so, so dead !" said Sans in a panicked voice.
Then, looking at me :
"We're so so dead !"
As loud footsteps approached, he grabbed a rock and threw into the air, aiming at something right above me. Before I could check what it was, a huge pack of snow fell on me, covering me entirely.
The second he turned towards the footsteps, I heard them stop. I wasn't able to see anything other than Sans' back.
"THERE YOU ARE YOU- What are you doing ?" said the voice. It sounded weird, a bit raspy and metallic. Whoever it was, they seemed really impatient and angry.
"Oh hey bro. Well, I felt bored, so I thought I might as well make a snowman to keep me company."
There was a moment of silence.
"What the- DON'T TRY TO HIDE IT !"
"Hide what ?"
"THE ALARM ! I knew you wouldn't tell me if it went off, AS USUAL, so I extended its cables to my room."
Other moment of silence.
"You what ?!"
"I HEARD IT, AND SINCE YOU DIDN'T CALL ME, AS YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO, I CAME BY MYSELF ! NOW, WHERE'S. THE. HUMAN ?!"
"Wow, slow down bro. You clearly doesn't know how sensitive this shit is. It rings at any vibration, whether the Ruins' door is opened or not."
"So ?!"
"So I checked, and as I suspected, it was just a rabbit."
"...Seriously ?! JUST A DUMB RABBIT ?!"
"Yeah, I knew ya wouldn't find this very bunny."
Yet another pause, before Sans let out a huge laugh.
"Pft- WHAHAHAHAHA !!!"
"OH MY FUCKING GOD SANS, CAN'T YOU AT LEAST MAKE ONE GOOD JOKE IN YOUR LIFE ?!"
"HAHAha... S-Sorry Paps, I just-I just had to do this one, heheh..."
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT," said "Paps'. "I ALREADY HAVE A LOT TO DO, I DON'T NEED FALSE ALARMS ! MAKE SURE TO FIX THAT !"
I began to hear the same footsteps as before furthering from us.
"I'll try my best !" screamed Sans.
As the the noise was getting further, I could see Sans finally relax. "Alright babydoll, you can get out now." he said. I crawled out of the heavy mass of snow, shaking from cold. This seemed to catch his attention. "Wow. All this time spent under this, you must be frozen to the bone."
I looked at him dead in the eyes, to make him understand I didn't need his jokes, but he either didn't remarked, or totally ignored it.
"You should get going. My brother could be back at anytime."
"T-T-Th..."
I tried to speak, but I quickly realized it was useless. He suddenly took a big step forward.
"Yeah, you're welcome, and shit like that. Here's a piece of advice for you. Go back in there." He said, pointing in the direction where the Ruins were. "This is the safest place where you could be down here."
I ignored him, got on my feet, and started slowly walking in the opposite sense.
"Hey ! Did you only listen to me ?!"
I didn't answer, not even looking at him, increasing the distance between the two of us.
"Seriously ?! 'I have to go home, Mommy, Daddy, they're waiting for me, boohoo'. Not only is it incredibly foolish, but also massively stupid !"
Don't answer.
"God fuckin... It's supposed to be MY job to ignore healthy advice ! If you go this way, you're dead ! If you stay here, you're DEAD ! If you go back in the Ruins, well... you're a bit less dead, I guess !"
He was almost screaming.
Don't. Answer.
"Nobody's gonna save you ! You can forget the light of the day, there's no mercy for humans here ! THERE ISN'T FOR ANYONE !!!"
Don-
"FOR GOD'S SAKE WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP ONCE AND FOR ALL ?!"
All the anger, the pain, the confusion amassed since I fell here exploded in those words. As I turned back and screamed them with all the air left in my lungs, I could hear birds flying away in the forest.
Sans froze and stopped talking. With a mixed look of anger and abandonment, he let out a tired sigh and walked away, disappearing from my sight after stepping into the shadow of the closest tree.
