Tommy hadn't expected Salem to wake up before ten. he was used to her sleeping in and complaining about having to get up for college. so when she woke up for nine thirty, tommy was surprised.
he saw her walk down the stairs while he was in the kitchen making a cup of tea. he turned around to see her and sent her a smile. instantly, he handed her a mug and she gratefully took it.
"did you sleep alright?" Tommy asked, jumping up onto the kitchen counter.
Salem nodded leaning again the counter, "yeah. had a weird dream that i kissed some annoying british guy though." she teased.
Tommy chuckled, "funny, i had a dream i kissed an equally annoying, yet sometimes funny, australian."
"awh you think i'm funny."
"sometimes!"
the two burst out into laughter although nothing was really that funny. they were honestly both just relieve their was no awkward tension between them. that was the last thing they wanted.
"so... what happens now?" Salem asked, nervously biting the inside of her cheek.
Tommy shrugged, "i'm honestly still confused. i don't really know how i feel."
"me either." Salem sighed in slight relief, "maybe we should just give it some time. if anything else happens we can obviously address it but i don't think we should force labels or anything."
"yeah i think so too. we should just stay friends but like not try and put off anything we feel."
Salem nodded in agreement, a small smile.
"cool." Tommy affirmed.
Salem giggled, "cool."
